    Birthday treat

Visited on Thursday for a family birthday. Friendly welcome. Had aperitif and chose our menu . Food was both interesting and delicious served by a friendly young man who was also very professional. Dinning room was beautifully decorated. Overall a very enjoyable evening

    Pleasant hotel with easy access.

We arrived on a very hot afternoon so it was nice to cool off in the pool. Dinner was served under the lime trees. The drawback was our garden terrace room 114. There are no windows to the outside from the room, only in the bathroom. If we hadn't left the bathroom door open and a shoe in the room door we would have been stifled as no air conditioning. The breakfast was very ordinary. Machine coffee, synthetic fruit juices and small croissants which became crumbs before you could eat them. And expensive for its quality.12 Pity because the staff were excellent.

    The Food Critic

It is unusual for me to review accommodation, but I felt I must make an exception for this establishment so as to warn my followers should you be considering stopping here. I was on my way back to Blighty having had a wonderful three week in the south, I selected this modest hotel as had I heard the restaurant was good as often Auberges are. Whilst I knew the restuarant was shut on the evening we arrived our stay was for two nights and I had already selected the other restaurant an old favourite of mine. We arrived at 4pm and the sun had followed us and it was still 25 degrees, so imagine my surprise to find that the pool was shut and locked, the surprises did not stop there as we checked in we told that our previously requested room upgrade had not been possible but that the boss was now able to upgrade us to two rooms in the annexe outside of the hotel, we then found out why. We were the only guests staying apart for a couple of elderly long term residence. The hotel was in fact closing after our check in. We were given our keys and told that in an emergency call this number and someone would come to the hotel. The rooms were tired and one had not been cleaned the whole hotel needs some care, there was a noisy sleep inhibiting extractor fan in one room that would not go off. obviously I did not feel inclined to eat there the following night but don't despair the staff are quite charming they apologise very well all the practice they get no doubt their apologies were not I fear sincere, my recommendation to you however are DO NOT VISIT HERE !

    A disappointing visit

Having stayed here several times in the past we were very disappointed the the hotel this time. It appears there are new owners during the last twelve months. We have to report that our bedroom was dirty , dust on the toilet outlet pipe & on the table supports & bedside table. Also the main table was dirty with spillage marks not wiped & cleaned. One further comment , dinner Was unavailable although that could be because we stayed on a Sunday
