Hotel closed! After our last stay and the wonderful dinner we had here we were really looking forward to another visit. However when we arrived we found the place closed although the proprietress was sitting drinking with some friends/clients in the bar. No bedrooms available and the restaurant was closed apparently. Don't know what os going on there really - is it a business or not a business? May try again as the food was wonderful. Had to drive on into Le Mans to find alternative accommodation. Very disappointing.

Disappointing evening mealThis is our second stay at this auberge this year. In late June we thought that the room we were given was a little tired but clean but we had a good evening meal & breakfast. On the strength of this we decided to return in September. This time we were allocated a simply, but tastefully, refurbished room. But the restaurant was this time only serving an a la carte menu. We both chose the veal kidneys which had been wholly or partly pre- prepared & the vegetable component was not at all pleasant to eat. Likewise the pineapple dessert was commercially frozen. Not good enough for the price charged. Breakfast was O.K.

Does the job for a nice stop over.....We stayed here twice in the space of ten days as a stop off mid route, as a family of four we were surprised at the size of the room, it was big, with a nice bathroom and a kitchette that just about does the job. Negative points was that when we got there after a days driving we wanted to sit down in the restaurant an have a meal but it was closed both times which meant a 5 minute drive into chateau du loire. Other than that it is clean, tidy and comfortable, its handy being only 10 mins from the motorway, so its perfect for a stop over. Over all it was good and did the job, no real negatives, its a nice cozy, comfortable and friendly place. I would use this again....

Not worth a visitAdvertised as a hotel with bar and restaurant, both bar and restaurant were closed. No warning of this when we made the reservation. We were told that the nearest place to eat was a 15 minute drive away, the last thing we wanted to be doing after a long tiring day, had been looking forward to a chill out and relaxing in the advertised restaurant and bar. Hotel disappointing, we booked two double rooms, we ended up with one small double room, the second room adjoining was like a tiny bed sit with a pull down uncomfortable sofa bed. Both rooms had a microwave, toaster and coffee machine, bedsit smelled of fish. Outside hotel very uninviting, looks dusty and scruffy, inside was clean, rooms nicely decorated. Breakfast an absolute rip off at 9 euro each, industrial croissants, bread and pain chocolat straight out of freezer, despite there being a nice boulangerie opposite which was open.Dried up old oranges and black bananas in fruit selection on first morning. Would not recommend this hotel at all.

AwfulAdvertised as hotel with bar and restaurant. Both bar and hotel closed, no warning given prior to arriving. Would not have stayed if we had known in advance. Village has nothing to do, nowhere else open, casually advised on arrival that nearest place to eat or get a drink was a 15 minute drive away, which was the last thing we wanted to hear after driving almost 8 hours to get there. Despite being a Logis de France the Hotel looks scruffy and run down from outside, in fact thought it had closed down. Window cleaner would have been a good idea. Inside was clean, some recent refurb done. Did have fast free wifi. Booked two double rooms, ended up with one tiny double with an attached bedsit containing an uncomfortable fold down sofa bed. Both had a microwave, toaster and coffees machine, bedsit had small sink with hob, plates, glasses etc. It stunk of fish. Breakfast an absolute rip off at 9 euro each. Industrial croissant, bread and pan chocolat straight out of a freezer, burned on outside and raw in middle, dried up orange and brown bananas in fruit bowl. Hotel had none of the charm and character usual in France, nothing to recommend it at all.
