Felt like home!We spent one night here and would have stayed longer if we had the time. We were welcomed with a warm greeting from Lisa. our accommodations were so comfortable and our homemade breakfast was delicious! She even gave us the recipe! Loved it here and enjoyed Lisa. A great place for an overnight or if you have a gang that loves fishing.if you want to get away for some good old fashion downtown this is definitely the place to go to.

A charming Gaspe experienceAn old world feel to this homey B&B made our stay restful and yet full of adventure. The auberge is right off the salmon rich Dartmouth river and a short ride to the Forillon state park. An ideal spot. The innkeeper Lisa makes wonderful breakfasts and is a rich source of local information. Alas, the one imperfection is that the bathrooms are shared.

Very disappointing. We do not recommend. This was by far our worst experience in our 2 week family vacation in the Gaspé and area. Like others have mentioned, the GPS for the address sent us to the middle of the forest. When we called, we were berated by the owner Lisa. It was somehow our fault. You would think that she would be welcoming or helpful. We only went here for the salmon fly fishing experience with guide. It was supposed to be a family experience. When we reserved, Lisa had insisted upon prepayment for the fishing guide service. She gave the reason that the person was independent. The guide is really the spouse of Lisa. The guide service was expensive, about $350 for the day. (Lots of pressure also for "big" tip). There were additional charges for equipment (rods and waders). We were two adults and two teens. There were no rooms with two beds, so had to take two rooms. The approxmate cost was $200 for each room. As for the accomodations, they were so-so and somewhat run down. The owner had confirmed over the phone and later by email that we would have a private bathroom (on lower floor). But when we arrived, she said no private bathroom. I had to pull out her own email confirming private use of one of the bathrooms since we took two rooms. She then agreed but berated us that it was a bad move since we would not be able to use the other common bathroom. The worst part was the lack of service or enthusiasm of the guide. He was not interested in helping us. But we had been told and sold on the representation that we would be taken care of, including that the guide would get our fishing permits. First the guide didn't want to go to the convenience store with us to get the required fishing permits. He just sent us out to find it by car! We tried and couldn't find it and came back. Only then, after we insisted, did he come with us. The most shocking thing was then the guide didn't want to go. It was around 10:30 am with all the delays. He said it was too late to go. He suggested that we go to the local national park and come back and go fishing in the late afternoon! That was after we had paid for the full day! I said that we wanted to go now and that that was what we had come to do and paid for. He went back into the house and had an argument with Lisa. He then came oustide and said he would go but was unhappy. Can you imagine? He said he would only go once and there would be no lunch break per the usual practice. We had no choice so we went along. On the shore, he did not appear interested as we would have expected and according to our previous experience with fishing guides. He would often wander off and disappear. We had no luck but at least we all got to try. The next morning Lisa was again unwelcoming. She scolded our children and ordered them to not watch the TV in the common living room. The breakfast was ungenerous and minimal. When we checked out, she tried to charge a second time for the guide. But I said that we had already paid and that payment had gone through on my credit card. She appeared completely disorganized. She came back and said that she had checked and that I was right. We were relieved to leave and move on. That was an expensive and bad family fishing experience which was the unpleasant time of our trip.

For Me Five StarsI stayed here one night and really appreciate the time spent. The location is excellent and it is so quiet. The lodge is beautiful inside in a rustic style. My room was nice and the breakfast wonderful. The owner was welcoming and very easy to talk to. I got along great with her. It is rare to really talk in a real way with someone you just met. She speaks her mind and "does not suffer fools gladly" a trait I also share. A few notes- know the rooms are on the second floor and the washrooms on the first. Also to get there read the directions on the website and follow them they are very accurate. Do not use a GPS it will only bring you grief. Ah technology...if I ever get back this way I will stay here for sure! D.

Costly reservationsReserved at this place for a two day, guided, fishing holiday. Had to pay in full, in advance, and actually received written confirmation. One month before arrival, received written notice from owner that lodge was fully booked and no rooms available. No alternate dates offered. No apology forthcoming. Asked for refund and were told by Lisa they are outfitters and the policy is no refunds.
