Weekend getawayLoved everything about this place. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly, the room was just perfect, and the lake was simply magnificent. Everything about this place was just perfect. We will definitely come back for another visit soon.

An Oasis - A Cathedral!Everything feels as if you were in an Oasis from a Hollywood scenario: the room from another era, facing a lake and mountains, the sounds of the forest (including the buzz from the ever more hungry flies), the quietness of a place suspended in time, the welcoming from the European hosts, the food youd expect from a high class restaurant from the south of France... Everything reminds you of a cathedral where your better half pontificates the words of love, where the French accents you hear around from its High Priest sound like the invitation to the plaisir de la chair you wouldnt need anyway, where you wouldnt envy the ceiling from the Sixtine Chapel since the night sky paints a different immensity calling for complete contemplation and where the closest youll get to a confession booth is the room youll sleep in, whispering all of the sins of love in your lovers ears so you could kneel begging for more of the same punishment ... All in all, a Canadian version of a « Mont St-Michel » in the middle of the Petite-Nation!

In the forestTo specify from the start - if you want to be away from the city in a nice forest by the lake this is the best place to be. The place is owned by a very kind family and they do a very good job to make you feel like home. Log cabins, swimming in the lake, jacuzzi and sauna in the PM, a friendly restaurant with good food (anyway very fancy for a forest ) Its very quiet and you can connect with the nature.

Beautiful auberge and site but we were totally overchargedWe recently spent a weekend at the Auberge. The location and auberge itself are just beautiful and the rooms very cozy and comfortable. However, we felt that at $35 plus tax and tip, the set-menu dinner (the only option) was overpriced and very mediocre in quality. What really bothered us though was that we were overcharged on just about everything. First of all, we were quoted one price for the room when we reserved over the phone and charged a much higher price upon checkout under the pretense that the room we had was a more expensive one even though we were never told about it. Then we were charged for a hot breakfast even though we did not have one (they did take that off the bill after we pointed it out to them). Then they charged us double the taxes (e.g., 10% GST instead of 5%!!!) (unfortunately, we noticed this too late). If it were only one thing, you could think that it was an honest mistake, but all of this together makes you wonder. Needless to say it left a very sour taste in our mouths upon departure and we will definitely not return for that very reason.

Very nice placeWe visited the auberge with friends, it was just perfect, near a peaceful lake that has many activities to fill your day, the cozy cabins and the tasty food just made our weekend even nicer. I highly recommend it!
