  Nice place with great staff

  I stayed here a couple of nights last week and enjoyed it. The restaurant is excellent. The rooms are spacious and clean and I chose this hotel because I had stayed at the Dastan Hotel in Aktobe and found it to be excellent as well. It is interesting to note that the hotel has six floors, but the elevator only goes to the 5th floor. So, if you don't want to lug your luggage up two flights of stairs, then ask for a room on the 5th floor or below.

  Overnight Stay

  Overnight stay before flying home the following day .Room good , large , clean and comfortable, breakfast buffet adequate as European standard.For anybody wanting to stretch their legs the Atyrau gardens are part of the complex.

  Good Hotel...

  This building was abandoned Soviet Hotel building back in year 2001. I know the owner and I prepared the concept project in that year and left Atyrau and returned in 2003 and found out that they build it on my concept design. The location is very good and easy to get around in the rooms are nice & clean, the staff are generally good and almost all of them speak good English. As I have been visiting Atyrau now for over 15 years, this hotel is from one of the oldest ones in town and it is generally preferred by Oil&Gas people travelling back and forward from their work locations to their homes for their rotational trips. It has a very popular and big garden café-bar-restaurant- which has lovely shashlik and serves cold draft beer during the summer.

  Hit and miss

  While the hotel is of a relatively good standard, the air conditioning broke while I was there (and it was 39C outside). It was quickly fixed though. The inside buffet restaurant is basic, dull and lifeless. The beer garden restaurant is a lot better, but still lacks character. I suggest walking 5mins down the road to the Renaissance hotel for a meal and a drink instead.

  Very colonial

  This is the refurbished Atyrau Hotel situated on the Europe side of the bridge over the River Ural. Very well placed to walk into town and visit the trading centres, restaurants and the Manjali Mosque. The rooms are very spacious with furniture in keeping with the style of the building. Buffet breakfast is served up until 1000. There is a small but adequate fitness room. All the staff were very helpful and made for a pleasant stay.
