    Perfect for relaxing

We went in the first week of October and the weather was good (only one afternoon of rain!) We had a private swim up suite looking out onto the beach and I definitely recommend paying for that extra bit of luxury! Overall we really enjoyed our holiday and it was better than we had expected. The hotel is not close to any shops, towns, other places to visit but you can get a free bus into Corfu (book ahead as it is busy) and there are plenty of reasonably priced day trips if you want to go out and about. There is a small shop onsite which has most things you might need. The hotel is clean and the cleaning staff do a really good job, the design everywhere in the hotel was modern and elegantly styled, the bathroom in our room seem to have been built as a bit of a rush job (the silicon between the shower window and wall was non existent and you could see straight through to outside, tiles were not placed in the right way and some of the fixtures and fittings on the wall just fell off) but nothing that really affected our enjoyment of the holiday. The waterfall shower was amazing and had great pressure! Food was good at all meals there was a great variety and no duplicates of evening meals. Favourite was the lunchtime gyros! The wasps at lunch were slightly annoying but not enough to ruin it for me personally. Unfortunately we were not able to book into the a la carte restaurant as it was fully booked for the week we were there. Waitresses and bar staff across the hotel were all extremely friendly and helpful and excellent customer service from all. We loved the spa, yes they do try and upsell a longer massage or more treatments when you go for your free 15mins but its not a hard sell, at the end they give you a piece of paper with a recommendation of what you might like to try and they ask you if you want to book one. We did book a couples massage and I had a mani-pedi. The cost was reasonable imo and cheaper than what you would pay in a basic UK spa and all treatments were good quality and staff were lovely. Evening entertainment was the poorest part of the experience of the hotel. The hotel indoor bar feels like youre sitting in an airport waiting area and because of the acoustics sounds really loud with no atmosphere. Sitting at the outside bar is much nicer but due to time of year was chilly. Would definitely return for another relaxing holiday!

How is this hotel even a Sensimar?

Stayed at this hotel for one week after a weeks cruising. The hotel is tired and dated. There has been additional accommodation built which makes the infrastructure overcrowded. Finding sunbeds is a daily battle. Meal times are like a zoo due to the number of guests. Have to dine outside for lunch and undergo a constant battle with wasps. The evening entertainment is the usual fare of local performers who wouldn't get a gig at your local social club. The courtesy bus into Corfu town is usually fully booked meaning without your own transport you are stuck. Personally I would never book this hotel again and feel the TUI brochure is totally inaccurate.

    Brilliant hotel and staff

Absolutely beautiful hotel, staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough for us! We upgraded to the swim up room and would definitely recommend - was so lovely to have our own little private pool and space to relax. Mini bar was refilled everyday with various soft drinks and two large bottles of water - for free also!! Food was amazing with different themed nights each day of the week, meaning that youll never get bored as there are so many options, but also familiar favourites every night like chips and pasta. Also the best waffles in the morning, highly recommend you try them! Makes me sad that I cant have them every morning now that Im back home!! Only downside was the amount of wasps - I have a slight phobia of them and they were everywhere, although on the bright side it did help me deal with my phobia! In conclusion, lovely hotel with beautiful views, amazing food and sunny warm weather. Would seriously consider going back here for a lovely relaxing holiday!

    Relaxing holiday

Take no notice of the low star reviews. Booking bus into Corfu town no problem, just check on availability when you check in. Got stung a couple of times carried a dab on sting relief with us, sorted. Staff excellent Food good Drink OK for all inclusive unbranded. The hotel has had a refurbishment, not the greatest of jobs, bearing in mind the hotel was built over 30 yrs ago. If you want a promenade to walk give this hotel a miss,if you want a relaxing holiday excellent place to go.

Wonderful Staff and a fabulous view

For us, just the most fantastic place. This year will be our fifth visit and we have already booked for 2021. A view from our room is used as our desktop. The staff have always been very attentive and friendly. We have been thinking of them all over the last four months hoping they are safe. Special mentions to Kostas B, Lia, Marco, Magda, Sotiris and the fabulous General Manager Spiros. Rooms are light and airy and cleaned every day. Air conditioning really appreciated. Food, varied, well cooked, plentiful and rapidly replenished with different themed nights. The Al a Carte is well worth several visits. Expecting changes to the experience this year but know that the food quality will be just as good. Wonderfully secluded with views across to Corfu Town. Yes it's quiet, yes it's at the bottom of a steep hill, yes there's no night life (but that's not why we go). Feel wonderfully relaxed and de-stressed. Yes, men need to wear long trousers to the restaurants in the evening; it says so on the website when you book. After dinner you can change back into whatever you want to wear. Free courtesy bus to Corfu town is great. We've never had an issue with booking it because we planned ahead. Coastal path walks in both directions from the hotel and the chapel nearby was used for filming of The Durrells (we were there when it happened) . A variety of water sports available on the beach and several boat hire companies nearby. A number of taverna a short walk in either direction and one offering a boat taxi service. Yes there are quite a few wasps as a result of the hotel being surrounded by olive groves (sounds horrid doesn't it) but we have never been stung or overly bothered. If you ignore them they ignore you. Have always been reticent about posting a review because we wanted to keep this wonderful place to ourselves.
