  Atlantic Tower Motor Inn - Glenelg

  In a nutshell, do not stay here!! My partner and I just wanted some time alone for a single night so we thought the romantic view would set the scene. The view was the one and only nice thing about this hotel. Construction going on everywhere, no staff on site, walls paper-thin, loose taps, leaky bathroom and bed looked like it was half made. To add insult to injury, they took $100 deposit from my credit card on top of the room cost and its been 3 weeks and i still havent got it back. Will never stay there again!

  Fantastic views lovely staff comfortable stay highly recommended walking distance to the beach all shops and the many restaurants glenelg has to offer spa baths are a nice touch n the mood lighting is great at night ! Highly recommend!

  It grows on you

  Firstly - location, location...can't beat it But the place grew on us and I appreciated the work the management has done to fit everything into the rooms, which were well kitted out and thoughtful The car park is a problem and maybe some fly screens would be welcomed. Some traffic noise but not liek a major highway If you get a good package deal, the Atlantic is a good bet that being said, an additional $100 was deducted from my card as noted': hope it comes out in the wash

  Decent 3-star motel in a fantastic location with friendly staff

  Stayed at the Atlantic Tower Motor Inn with my mother for 2 nights just after Christmas. We booked through Booking.com and when the price dropped $50 the day before we called the hotel direct and they were able to give us the cheaper rate that Booking.com was offering. We stayed in one of the Level 1 rooms, as we required a room with 2 beds. The Level 1 rooms don't have balconies, which allows them to be slightly bigger to fit a queen and a single. Hotel isn't 5-star, so don't expect as such. If you come in knowing this is a 3-star hotel you will have a comfortable stay. We were particularly looking for a place that was - walking distance to Glenelg beach/restaurants - had free/included car parking - could provide us with 2 beds (single/single or Queen/single) This motel was able to do all of these things. Positives - great location. 5 minute walk to the marina, beach; 10 minute walk to Jetty Road. - so many restaurants within easy walking distance - Coles within walking distance (but it closes early, weird Adelaide shopping hours) - great water pressure in the shower; loved the walk-in shower (rather than shower over bath that many hotels still have). - friendly staff, both on the phone and on-site. Really helpful, kind and approachable. - our room wasn't facing Anzac Hwy, so was relatively quiet in terms of road noise. - decent sized fridge that we were able to store our own snacks and drinks in. Bigger than most hotel fridges. - free parking - decent quality towels (better than average for a motel of this quality). Things to consider - This hotel doesn't provide individual toiletries. Provided were soap and shower gel in squeezable bottles (I didn't like this, because it means that the bottle is touched by someone with 'dirty' hands every time they go to the toilet). BYO toiletries. - Parking was limited and was on a "first come, first served" basis. At the time a lot of the parking spaces were also blocked off by scaffolding. Parking is also not secure (in a carpark that is basically on the street). Apparently they do have paid parking that you can upgrade to, but we weren't advised of this or offered this by the hotel. Negatives of our particular room - Window didn't shut properly. We had to roll up a towel and stuff it in the crack to make sure no mosquitos came in (I am highly allergic). - Black mould in the shower - down low, not at eye level (I only noticed this because I sat down on the shower floor to shave my legs). - Beds weren't great - could feel the springs in the mattress and both of us woke up with sore backs. - Bed sheet had a large (coffee?) stain on it that should have been picked up by housekeeping when making the bed and not used. Would we stay here again - probably, at the right price. We paid $180 a night for 2 nights which was more than this property is worth, but in prime holiday season at Glenelg you don't expect much less. There is construction going on on the facade of the building, but this didn't bother us as we were out during the day.

  Very good for it's age

  Stayed for 4 nights in a balcony room (#100). Had a little trouble with getting my room key via the automated check-in box due to my booking being through Qantas. The lady on the helpline was fantastic. The room on level 10 had amazing views to the sea and up the patawalonga. The room was "tired" but everything worked well. The Wifi worked very well. The room came with free parking. The location is great. Close to the beach, Jetty Road and the tram to the city. Will stay again, especially if I can get room 100.
