  Fabulous first class service!

  What an excellent hotel the whole team made us feel so welcome again today. George and the Ocean Restaurant team really made today VERY special. Nothing was too much effort and the food was incredible as always.

  Just as good on second visit

  We were delighted to return to the Atlantic Hotel for August Bank Holiday weekend, and this time brought our young adult sons and one of their girlfriends with us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of this beautiful place. One of the things I really like about it is the reception area and its different sitting areas which are decorated with some interesting and tasteful pieces of art. We ate dinner in the hotel each evening of our 3 night stay and the service was pleasant and friendly. The food as good as we expected, with few if any niggles. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and the beach nearby is just gorgeous.

  A lovely hotel

  We spent five very happy nights at the Atlantic in early October. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. The hotel acknowledged the occasion with champagne in the room when we arrived a gesture that we appreciated very much. The weather was very windy for most of the time and frequently wet, too. When we stepped through the door of the hotel on the day that we arrived, the gale blew over a standard lamp in the foyer. That was Jersey weather in early October 2020. But, there were sufficient breaks in the weather to get out and about and we enjoyed beach walks, the coast path and the trail following the disused railway line from St Aubin to Corbière all nearby the hotel. At the Atlantic, the coronavirus measures were well managed and hotel life was a normal as possible in the circumstances. The lovely indoor pool (we had to book a time slot to use it and then had exclusive use for 40 minutes) was 31 deg C and a pleasure to visit. So was the Ocean restaurant. This is a Good Food Guide and Michelin-rated establishment and it lived up to expectations. It featured well-spaced tables, crisp white linen, ceiling fans, louvered window shutters, views of the garden and the sea beyond and a friendly but highly professional waiting team. The food in the restaurant was excellent and not just at dinner - the breakfast menu offered a great choice of beautifully prepared dishes. The first floor room, with a view of the sea, was well-appointed and cared for and the bed was large and comfortable. Even the loo paper was high quality! One morning, when we were crossing the car park of the Atlantic, some guests that we recognised were leaving. One of them smiled at us and flicking her head in the direction of the hotel said Heaven. We nodded our agreement.

  Really enjoyable stay

  Excellent service from all staff. The dinner was amazing, although the various menus to chose from was slightly daunting. We were slightly surprised they couldnt provide a Singapore sling, but the alternative was great. The breakfast was equally good, especially the Eggs Royale. The rooms are well appointed, with large TVs including Sky. Id recommend the Sea View rooms over the Golf Course view rooms. They handled COVID restrictions well, giving us 45 min slots to use the pool. The pool and jacuzzi were well heated.

  Exquisite

  Our friends have dined at the Atlantic on several occasions and always raved about the food. We decided to take the plunge and book a dinner bed and breakfast break. To say we were not disappointed would be an extreme understatement. It was spectacular. Beautiful surroundings, very tastefully decorated entrance area with a calm welcoming atmosphere and attentive, efficient staff. Our room was lovely, with all the amenities you would expect and some nice extra touches : real milk for the morning tea/coffee, an actual rose in the bathroom rather than an artificial one, quality cups and saucers and of course not to forget the complimentary half bottle of fizz. As you might expect from a Michelin starred restaurant, dinner was spectacular. We both had roasted foie gras on a bed of polenta to start followed by venison with roasted butternut squash and salsify kale, served with a deliciously intense jus, and braised short rib of beef with forest mushrooms and black garlic caramel. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The service was exactly right - timely and attentive without being overpowering. To follow we had cheese and biscuits, all washed down with a very nice Beaujolais. Breakfast the next morning was a traditional full English - sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom, black pudding, eggs - the full works in other words. Plenty of tea and coffee, fresh juice, toast. Perfect set up for the day. Overall this was a fabulous experience and one we will definitely repeat. Next time I'll remember to ask for my prep dinner G and T in a straight glass with a twist of lemon - I'm not a big fan of the goldfish bowl with multiple fruits. We could not recommend the Atlantic more highly. Go there. You will not be disappointed.
