A Great Relaxing HolidayThis is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and to be honest I would not book a hotel with only 2 stars but this is the exception. The hotel is very clean, the room was cleaned every day but Sunday and the towels are change every day. The reception area / stroke bar is very friendly and Evi & her husband Zani who run the bar have an unbelievable sense of humour. It has a generous size swimming bool with plenty of sun beds and the pool bar has a good selection of snacks and drinks. We made loads of new friends on our 2 visits in fact most of them where there both times. All the guests seemed to know one another because most of them have been going back year after year sometimes twice a year. It is a family run hotel and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Its a particularly good place to stay if you want to make new friends, myself and my partner will probably return in September. Thanks for helping us to have a great relaxing holiday and we hope to see you soon Brian & Angie

Way too quiet for usMe and my daughter visited here last June and we where bored stiff! The town is very quiet, I would say run down and there really wasn't anything to do! The Athinoula was nice, lovely pool, snack bar and beautiful sunshine. Rooms where basic but clean and friendly family who run it. But absolutely nowhere that we found worth visiting. A few nice restaurants scattered around but nothing like other resorts we've visited. I'm shocked reading that people go back again and again if I'm honest We wouldn't go back if it was free!!! If you like a busy holiday, then this area of kos isn't for you, if you like peace and quiet and not much else you'll love it,

A good basic Greek HotelA good basic Greek hotel. The hotel is in a good location handy for the supermarket, local restaurants, the beach and far enough from the main road not to be troubled by the traffic noise. The pool is a good size and is shallow with a slow gradient to the deeper end, ideal for the not so confident swimmer. The sunbeds have all been renewed this year and are very practical and comfortable. The pool is complimented with a bar come restaurant that serves good food and drink at reasonable prices. The standard rooms on the B and B option this year have all been fitted with fridges and a kettle, this is a big bonus. Breakfast is very good with orange juice, bread, ham, cheese, jam and boiled eggs which are alternated with peaches and yogurt (a toaster is not provided but would be a big bonus). Towels are changed every day except Sundays which may be a bit OTT for some. The hotel is family run and very accommodating. Thanks Athinoula for another enjoyable stay.

Fantastic staff in a great little hotelWe wondered what we were going to because the unthoula is a 2star hotel, absolutely no problems here ,the bedrooms ,although a little small were immaculately clean with an amazing views over kefalos.the breakfasts were ok if not a little repetitive. (Bread butter tea coffee orange juice ham cheese tomato and cucumber) the pool area was great ,plenty of beds and a fantastic pool bar for snacks and drinks.situated halfway up a hillside towards kefalos village the hotel runs a mini bus 5 times a day to the resort for free. The best thing about this hotel was definitely the staff ,unthoula,(the boss),Anastasia, and angie the housekeeper were great ,really helpful

Lovely family run hotel.I booked this place as a mistake! I was looking for a hotel and came across one called Anthoula but before i could book it, i was called away from my pc. On returning to it i searched again and found what i thought was the Anthoula and booked it. I remember reading that it was on a hill but after arriving in Kefalos, the driver stopped adjacent to the beach and pointed out this hotel...Athinoula! I am glad i made a mistake. This was charming, run by a lovely family, room was basic but nicely furnished and clean. Shower was ok but as in most Greek hotels, only a shower curtain which didn't hold the water back but hey, its ok, the room was a mini wet room so no bother there. Breakfast was ok, typically continental, ham, bread, coffee, juice, yoghurt, boiled eggs. Mythos 2.50E a bottle so all good there and plenty of room around the pool but perhaps in other circumstances and times, it could get crowded. My only gripe was the extra for the much needed air con. Never a fan of paying for things like this when really , in the heat of the Greek isles, it should be a given. After being bitten to death by mozzies on the first night without air con, i opted to buy for the rest of my stay which helped enormously. Kefalos isn't Ibiza town or Magaluf. This is a quaint, quiet beach front town with tavernas and water sports and quad hire and not much else so if you want boom boom busy, head to Kardemenia, if you want relaxation, come here.
