  The Summit

  There are 3 Properties owned by this group and we stayed at The Summit. Be aware that you need to check in at Atherton Blue Gum which is only a couple of driveways down the street. The Summit is a beautiful house with lovely wrap around verandas. Our suite had 2 bedrooms separated by a large bathroom. It was advertised as 2 x king beds but the second room had 2 x single beds which was fine. You share a huge kitchen and lounge with other guests. Heaps of tourist leaflets in the kitchen and the hosts were helpful with advice on check-in. There is also a pool but we didnt use it. Breakfast of cereals, juice, toast was supplied as was tea and coffee. Very nice indeed. With all the timber floors it was a little noisy when other guests were moving around. You do have to climb a set of stairs so maybe stay somewhere else if you have mobility issues. There is car parking under the building. We enjoyed our stay but my husband struggled with the stairs.

  Some good and some bad experiences

  Lets start with the goods: The room was Big and we were well informed about Walks, Supermarkets and restaurant nearby. A light breakfast was included and everything we ate was filled bad up in our room for the next Day. The bads: Not much bad things but a few crucial ones for us. The bed was squicking very loudly with every movement you made in bed which sadly woke you up multiple times in the Night. Also the isolation in our room was very very bad. We were unwillingly woken both Mornings at 6.00 to 6.30 am. Due to our neightbors to one of the sides and the staff above us. The discontinued sleep and unwillingly waking up made our stay mildly unpleasent sadly.

  Be aware of the cancellation policy

  The Cancellation policy for up to 1 day before scheduled arrival is 30%. I accept that I made a mistake on Feb 11th 2019 when booking our July holiday. I rang the B& B within 30 minutes to notify them that we would not be requiring two rooms but have been informed the policy is not negotiable and that I will have $170 deducted from our account presumably in July 2019.

  Convenient

  A handy location to visiting Milla Milla falls, the Curtain Fig, Yungaburra and more. Located just outside the town centre, a car is essential. During July, the weather was pretty cool at night and the bedding was a little light. Venturing to the bathroom was a chilly experience in the morning. However, the continental breakfast supplies were appreciated.

  Would not recommend

  Called the reception over 5 times without an answer to then have them all declined. So was then denied a room after paying in advance. No compensation given. Was told to simply contact the booking agency and that it was now our problem to get a complete refund although there were vacant rooms as could be seen. Staff not willing to assist but rather told us to leave the premises. Would not recommend.
