  Ok hotel in Essen

  Hotel: The hotel is ok. It feels a bit old and outdated but for the price it's not that bad. Most of the times there are better alternatives in te city itself. Price: The price is not bad considering that breakfast is included. Room: The room feels old and was really cold, switching on the heating didn't do anything. The location of the shower with the curtain was also not really convenient placed to be honest. could really require an update. bathroom: The bathroom was normal, nothing wrong with it. However the shower curtain and placing of the shower head results in a wet bathroom. It's also a bit small. Services: The women at the reception was friendly and helpful and explained how everything works. Food: The breakfast is not bad to be honest but a bit basic. When it's free you should not complain. neighborhood: close to the university and they have their own parking space. Next to this it's a few minutes drive from the center of Essen. Parking: Own parking space so good service. Overall: Nothing special to be honest. Feels a bit old and needs an update. If there are other options closer to the center of town i would stay there. But if no other option is available I would still stay here.

  definitely not customer friendly

  I agree with both other reviews. The rooms need renovation, the refrigerator didn't work and the owner is definitely not customer friendly. We experienced the same with late departure and a rude owner as already described.

  No value for money!

  The hotel is in a good position with great public connections, but due to renewing works is difficult to recognize and rather loud in the morning. In a few minutes walking one is in Berliner Platz. Inside the structure looks rather old and considering the name, I was honestly expecting something more fascinating. The breakfast room gives a cold feeling even if the breakfast itself was ok. I stayed in a single room, which was rather narrow. In the bathroom there was no cabin, but just a glass to separate the shower, what I didn't really find comfortable. The red carpeted flooring was not really inspiring cleaning and dust was visible a bit everywhere. For me definitely no value for this money.

  Very nice people !!!

  10 min by subway to go in the messe Essen Host are very sympatic And the price is fair !! I recommend this hotel if you want to visit the city or go to a festival in the messe There is also a very good breakfast !!! Thanks

  No electric vehicle charging station, beware

  The listing for this says "Electric vehicle charging station" but I stayed here recently expecting to be able to charge my electric car but there was nothing. After a lot of discussion, they very reluctantly allowed me to plug into a mains socket that was available in the car park. Anyone booking this place for the charging station, please be aware there is no specific charging facilities. Rest of the hotel was fairly low budget quality.
