relaxing timeWe stayed 3 days at Atami Korakuen. The hotel has a very convenient free shuttle service to Atami JR station. Our room, on the 15th floor, was large and with a beautiful view on the city. Onsen facilities are spacious and clean, with sauna. Massage service is good, albeit on the expensive side. Dinner buffet was extremely good: I particularly liked the tempura, not oily at all. But all the selection of fish was delicious. Breakfast buffet was a little short on "continental" choices. All in all, a great and relaxing stay.

Atami Korakuen - top class onsen hotelOur first impression of Atami Korakuen was how the well-heeled hotel guests were all packed in a minibus that ferried them from the Atami JR station to the hotel. Services at the front desk was impeccable. We were ushered to our hotel room and made as comfortable as possible. There were many highlights during our one night stay- the Fireworks at the bay was fantastic. My wife keep exclaimed - enough! this is too much...cos the more than half hour display was so sense-numbing. There was enough to occupy us in our short stay. The dinner and breakfast buffet was wonderful. The onsen was well maintained and supplied with spa treatment applicants. The walk along the marina bay that is near the hotel was also invigorating given the cold winter wind blowing from the sea. The market near the station was also well stocked. We actually made time to queue up for the lovely fishcakes. Well worth our stay and visit.

Wonderful sea views in a traditional Japanese style tatami mat room.We went with some friends to enjoy a few days away from Tokyo and we managed to secure a good deal on a room with breakfast and dinner and shinkansen included and for what we paid, we feel like we had a great deal. The room was very spacious, we were five friends sharing a Japanese style tatami mat room and it had the lovely smell of new tatami mats. The onsen was large, clean and modern and had an outside onsen as well. The breakfast and dinner were buffet style and we enjoyed wearing our yukatas to the restaurant for dinner. About half of the guests in the restaurant were wearing yukatas when we went. The service was typically Japanese in that everything seemed to be very polite, organised and efficient. Our futons were laid out for us whilst we were dining. The location is good in that it faces the sea and is walking distance from the train station. There is a free shuttle bus for those that do not want to walk. A pleasurable stay.

Not badIts ok. I would not come here for a romantic time, but if you have active kids, you might want to choose this place. Its nothing special. Good Every room has a view...even the worst room. You could be at the hotel from a Tokyo Station platform in 1 hour. View from onsen is good. Not enough English speaking staff, but they tried hard. Futons were good quality. Activities for kids and a lot of space for kids to run around. Bad Traffic in Atami is terrible. Atami is a big tourist trap with expensive, but good fresh food. Buffet was not big, but decent. If you like tuna sashimi, you would be happy. I never intend to come to Atami again, but if I was in the neighborhood with kids, I would stay here.

Great Hotel!Korakuen is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Atami. Lots of fun. It is a big hotel with lots of space to move around and enjoy. It is a clean, comfortable and well-maintained hotel. We stayed in the new tower. Our room did not fave the ocean but we enjoyed it; new, clean and comfortable. The hotel has an onsen in the main tower that is just for hotel guests. It is really nice. They also have a spa downstairs that is open to public and guest for an extra cost. We didnt go in as our daughter is 6 and not allowed to go in most of the baths. It looks great though. The restaurant is really good. Modern and nice selection of food. It was buffet style for dinner and breakfast. Service at Korakuen is excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back if the chance arises. Nice location in Atami. Highly recommend it.
