  What a surprise!

  We've stayed in Barstow lot's of times before because the motels are pretty cheap there. This time, we were on our way to Ventura from Las Vegas, Our luck was really bad in Vegas, we had plenty of gas but only $30.00 in cash. We stopped at 4 motelsand nobody would rent us a room for what we had. We were tired and tried a 5th motel, the Astro Budget. The old guy was very nice and accepted our $30.00. From the outside, this motel looked about the same as the others, except when we went into our room, I was actually amazed! The room was very nice and had a micro & fridge, they even had HBO and WI-FI. I felt like I'd gotten the deal of the century. That's where I'll stay from now on in Barstow, what a bargain.

  Simple, simple, simple but clean

  This is a simple but adequate accomodation for an overnight stay close to the interstate when travelling e.g. from LA to Las Vegas or vice versa. Rooms are simple and clean albeit a bit tired, no frills, Wifi is working OK. Location on the main road of Barstow in the vicinity of some restaurants. Price is a little bit high for what you get compared to other budget motels.

  Not bad not great

  $40 with tax for an average room. For about $5 more you can stay at Motel 6 next door. On the positive side they have tubs instead of the small shower at M6. The check in was pleasant and quick. The room clean and reasonably comfortable with fridge and microwave. The negatives are a TV from the 80s and no ice maker ... but they do have Dish with lots of channels (but they should include a channel guide and instructions). The manager gave me a bucket of ice but it tasted terrible ... I went next door to the Rodeway Inn and got a bucket from their machine. I guess it's about a push between this place and M6.

  Bedbugs!

  I stayed here on the drive to Vegas. The price was right, but I got what I paid for. The linen was filthy with stains and hair. The lights were motion reactive, so when I tossed n turned in bed nothing turned on, but if I reached for my water bottle, the lights came on. I felt like I was being bitten, but saw no signs until the next day. On my way back, I stopped to tell mgt and I got a "No bedbugs here." If u go, be sure to ask for any room other than 108.....

  Road Trip

  DON'T stay here....Think of gross...And then compound it with no TV. Seriously....TV didn't work...Hairs all over the sheets, bathroom floor...So gross. OK...Was $44 with tax and AARP discount. Wish we would have spent 5 bucks more for Motel 6
