  Not what it was and about to undergo redevelopment......

  We have stayed here and visited many times over the years and this year will be the last in its present state which I have to say looks very tired. The barman in the pool bar informed us that it is due to get a face-lift and undergo complete redevelopment.......so watch this space!

  Needs work

  See from another review 2018 someone said this place is up for redevelopment. April 2019 and it is still the same. Owner told us in 2017 he had plans to change but no work started yet. Great area with lovely views over Fig Tree Bay, stunning. Pool area a little tired but still able to relax and enjoy sunbathing.

  Currently on our last day here at Astreas. I can not fault the apartments or facilities for what we paid. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The air conditioning unit is situated in the bedroom but with the door left open keeps the whole apartment cool. The chamber maids are on the ball with fresh towels and keeping soaps/toilet rolls stocked. Large choice of breakfast foods including cereals, pastries, fruit and yogurt and the usual fried foods such as bacon and eggs. Reception staff are very approachable and helpful. We had a slight problem with our safe locking but this was rectified immediately. Our favourite area was the pool and pool bar! We never once had any issues with having sun beds or seating. The seating area is very shaded and has a pool table. The pool bar is well stocked with snacks, drinks and ice-creams and the staff are super friendly and relaxed at this area letting the guests choose our choice of music! The pool bar food menu has what you would expect, pizza, burgers, panini sandwiches, fries. We ordered from this menu a few times and the food was good. We were holidaying with others whos hotel was at the other end of the strip and they often came and spent the day with us using these facilities, the attitude of Astreas is everyone is welcome! Its situated right on fig tree bay beach were you will find everything you could possibility imagine to do! I could write all day about Astreas but unfortunately I have our cases to pack for going home this evening, Ill miss this place and Cyprus will always bring good memories!! I hope to visit again soon!! 5*

  Perfect location

  We were a 3 generation family of 11 and have just returned from a very enjoyable 2 weeks stay in this hotel. Although the facilities are a little bit dated, the location, staff and cleanliness made up for this in abundance. The manager was exceptionally genial and accommodating. All the female reception and restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. Tomas was efficient and affable. Our rooms were always kept clean and the towels and bedding changed regularly. The cleaners did a really good job and were always very pleasant. The maintenance/handyman speaks no English, but was very nice and is a master of all trades. We had a problem with the air conditioning unit in our room, this was fixed within 2 days; a fan was provided in the meantime. Others in our group had less complicated problems and they were rectified on the same day. The breakfast buffet was adequate. There was a choice of English and continental food. The range of coffee and tea was quite varied and there was a small selection of juices. The pool area and gardens were always very clean. We never had a problem getting a sun bed. Everyone is welcome in this area and there were times when visitors did take over a little bit, some not even buying drinks or food, just using the facilities! It is situated in an area of large, modern hotels and this made The Astreas seem more like a little oasis. There is a large grassed area in front of the pool leading down to the sea. The boardwalk along the front is perfect for an early morning/late evening walk or run and is very safe underfoot. The Strip is just a short walk away and there are lots of lovely restaurants along this road. Anatolia was a particular favourite and is very good value for money. There is a Best Buy supermarket very close to the hotel and a Lidl store about 15 minutes walk away. For us it was a 5* stay, but Ive rated it 4* only because of the fact that it could do with a little updating. We all had a fabulous holiday and it would be lovely to stay there again

  very good location but needs renovation

  very good location, walking distance from the beach, very clean hotel, the staff was very polite and helpful. but the rooms need renovation, no wifi, the pool also needs renovation -beds and umbrellas-, was very hot during breakfast and very annoying.
