  Pleasant stay

  It was a pleasant stay in a beautiful clean and quiet hotel in Eforie Nord close to the beach. As it was May, there were not a lot of people there. I only stayed one night, but I enjoyed a quiet day and night.

  Not really what expected

  Plus: The hotel is close to the beach. Min: No english menus; Food was ok, but prijs/quantity=expensive; Rooms were clean, but the bathrooms a disaster... low water pressure, the drain was not working properly (we had so much water in the bathroom that we needed to call the repairman).

  Bad experience!

  Booked for my birthday, paid a very high price and this is what I received: Room with sea view-paid extra for that, all I saw was trees( picture attached) No cover for our cushions-had to go around 11 pm to reception to ask for, receptionist said he can't help me as no cleaner was round and laundry room was locked!( cushions looked very old and dirty!) Couldn't take a proper shower, shower curtain was too small and short so water all over the place. No cleaning done, the look of bathroom is way below 3 stars, balcony has no privacy, water coming down from Air Conditioner. Wouldn't recommend this hotel!

  Early evening drink on terrace

  We passed this hotel every day during our stay in Eforie Nord, so eventually dropped in for an early evening drink on their terrace. Prices reasonable and quite busy. Glad we weren't staying at the hotel, though, as after dark all the outside lighting appeared to be switched off and we couldn't even see the entrance!

  Sad, sad story

  I loved this hotel! With it's origins in the 30', with an extra floor and an extension from the 70' the whitewashed building was on the waterfront. A road&small park separated it from the promenade&sandy beach. In the latter years a massive dark & ugly villa took over the little park. Legal? I don't know... And then... We visited their excellent restaurant a few weeks ago. The front garden was overgrown, dirty and dark. The restaurant was closed. We went in the lobby full of dust to bother a young man behind the counter who was watching something on youtube on his mobile. He knew less than us about Astoria Eforie but we undestood from him that: - the hotel is/was open partially-rooms were occupied; - there was/is/will be a change of management for a few years and till things are over nothing works: the tennis courts, the bowling, room service and on top of all their restaurant (except for breakfast)... Round the back, their park-size garden looked a mess, overgrown and dirty... Sad, sad storry.
