  extra costs after reservation, mediocre breakfast & unfriendly staff

  parking costs were not communicated, there a only a few places for breakfast so get there on time. staff was very unfriendly during breakfast. cannot recommend for a visit to düsseldorf. location and cleanliness were okay.

  Pleasant weekend stay

  We booked this hotel as it was relatively close to the The Centre and included breakfast. It is in a quiet residential area. We had a warm welcome and given a map of the area. We were advised the walk into the Centre was approx 20 mins. This was a pleasant walk which included an arcade of trees with a canal between. Lovely at night as the trees were lit. The room - we had a suite which we appreciated- having a settee is an advantage when listening to music etc. There was a radio and TV in lounge and bedroom. However no English speaking channels. The bed I am afraid was very firm but we slept reasonably well. The rooms are quite old fashioned, do not have tea/coffee making facilities but are clean and a hair drier is provided. The curtains were very good at providing a black-out effect. Bathroom was quite small, good quality towels, squeezy soap and tissues provided. Breakfast was an excellent cold buffet with a lovely choice of food and a very good service of refilling the buffet. Coffee was served but tea was self-service. I would definitely stay here again.

  Large room and delicious breakfast!

  This hotel is centrally located but in a quiet street. Very friendly and professional staff. The room was spacious and breakfast was very good. All very fresh. Fruit and sweets available for the guests. Great value !

  Buena relación calidad-precio.

  Pequeño hotel, bien situado. Habitaciones muy amplias, sin grandes lujos pero cómodas. Personal muy amable. Desayuno con poca variedad pero suficiente. Debe mejorar en accesibilidad para personas en sillas de ruedas, el ascensor es muy pequeño.

  Zen place

  It goes without saying that there are always things which are not perfect or require the improvements in the 3 stars hotels, and I could have easily pointed out something which was less attractive in Astoria but somehow it skipped my mind due to the perfect attitude and service of the host. Mario, who runs this hotel, actually it would be more correctly to say- Who opens the door of his house to the visitors is a quite a personality with the unique taste and philosophy. Clearly, its not all about earning as much as possible from the visitors but providing them comfort and Zen. Himself and his team/staff - working very hard and are Amazing! Weve arrived at 10 am and the rooms were all ready for us to check in, next day - we could check out even after 13.00. Breakfast was perfect. Location- very good on the walking distance, there is a garage for the disposal of guests of the hotel. The hotel is very clean place with unusual combi of the styles-its another proof of the individuality/creativity of the host! Loved the nostalgic homey feeling which the stay in this hotel provoked: opposite are the flats, so you can secretly transform in the living room of the neighbors .....
