    Best restaurant in hotel

    Visited Astoria Garden in January 2018. Rooms are clean, but a bit old fashioned. Spa is good enough. The pool is too chlorated. Saunas are ok. You always can go to the garden and dive in snow after sauna. Special thanks to reatsurant and personel. Everything was great, footd was amasing and dishes were delivered as in good restaurant. Breakfast is always the same, but tasty. Dinners are always different, delicious and beautyfull. I carn recommend this hotel to everybody.

    Wonderful hotel full of wonderful employees

    My family travels a lot , and for a period of about 20 years we've been going on ski trips to Austria , Italy and France... We are usually staying at 4 star hotels. This year my husband, my son and I stayed in Bad Hofgastein with 2 more families at the ASTORIA hotel. Even though the whole street was covered in snow , the driveway and entrance to the hotel were completely cleared from snow.We received a very warm welcome to the hotel by the kind staff and Mr. Alois Pesendorfer who is the manager of the hotel. When we arrived , we were quite tired of the trip and a problem considering our rooms popped up. There was a misunderstanding in communication with the room reservations so we did not get the rooms we reserved. Spoil ed as we are , and wanting to get what we paid for we started off our communication with Mr. Pesendorfer quite frustrated. With a wide smile on his face he promised our problems will be dealt with the 1st thing in the morning as it was already quite late when we arrived. With suspicion we went to our rooms and settled for the night. Next morning we went to have breakfast and we were shocked to see Mr. Alois standing next to our table bringing the good news.Our desired rooms were already ready for us to move in right after breakfast. Breakfast was self serviced and all of the food was quite fresh and tasty.There were always a wide range of very fresh fruit you could choose from, unlike in some of the other hotels we went to where fruit had a paper like taste and was not enjoyable to eat. As all people in our group were devoted skiers we always missed "snack-time" in the hotel because we stayed on the ski tracks for the full day. In the evening , we were quite happy with the way dinner tasted and was served. The soup was followed by a nice appetizer followed by a salad and the main meal , deserts were always great as well. A shocker for us was the over all friendliness combined with professionalism and kindness from the staff. I have to mention Sasa Pilipovic and Lubo. They were our waiters who brought joy to every breakfast and dinner we had.Sasa and Lubo was fluent in Slavic languages ,as well as German and English. Quite the personality the fellow has, very polite and smart.If we had any questions about Bad Hofgastein we were sure to ask them as they were always quite helpful for us. As time in the hotel passed , we wondered how and why is the atmosphere in the hotel and between its coworkers full of such good vibes and positive energy. Then we noticed that Mr. Alois is present in the hotel almost 24/7 , he cares for every each one of his employees and his guests, always approaching people asking if everything is fine , wishing them a good day and stuff like that. That's what differs the employees of Astoria and Mr. Alois from people who work in other hotels we visited.We always looked for that in hotels , a place where we could feel like we were at home , and not in a cold robotized hotel where everything was considered a procedure , a lot of hotels nowadays lack that old fashioned hospitality and friendliness. Everyone in the hotel has done their works with honest emotion put into it and it could be felt trough many occasions , Mr.Alois is a great example of what a hotel manager should be , a LEADER for his team of employees , not just a boss who will order everyone around. His smile and energy are something special and gives you a good energy. If you reached this far into this text and essay , I hope I managed to provide you with the information you couldn't read in other comments considering the pool ,rooms or stuff like that , which is very similar in almost all of the hotels.I wanted to point out what and how these people differentiate from people in other places. I'm giving this hotel a 5 star rating for the experience I had in it and I we are all planning to visit it next year!

    Great hotel with best hotel mamager EVER

    Went here together some friends, got a fine double room with balcony. Asked the hotel manager to recommend us a place to eat. Was recommended a nearby Austrian restaurant with the best food ever. We were 11 persons, and it was raining. The manager called and made a reservation, then he got the hotel minibus and drove us to the restaurant for free. After the dinner we stayed in the hotel bar and got the best service ever from the bar keeper (hotel manager) The SPA and relax area was also very good, swimming pool and whirl pool was warm and clean

    Nice Place to stay with good service

    It was the Nordic skiing week (8) , so high season. You couldnt see that in the hotel, everything went so smooth The room although was a disappointment, 3 person and it was advertised as a room with 3 beds, well it was one double bed and a mattress on the floor. So the room was even smaller with it, and sleeping , well wasnt that good. The room was clean and had enough space for clothing. It had also a Balcony and a bath tub. No A/C Pool are was nice, with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam sauna (wasnt really hot). Good to spend time after skiing. Only minus where the guest, as they let the children do whatever they liked (very noisy) Ski storage was good, with boots warmers. Good location Reception was very nice and friendly all extra wishes where executed with a smile And the best for the rest, restaurant and its service was marvellous. Good and tasty Menü. The service was superb... Thank you Pavlo Also kids menu available. The location of the hotel was good. Walking distance to city centre and buss stop behind the corner

    Perfect stay

    There was almost Nothing about this hotel that we could say was not Ok. Delicious food, friendly And helpful staff who learns customers habits really fast. Nice wellness area which was almost empty in afternoons So we had swimming pool, jacuzzi And sauna almost always only for ourselves. The only minor suggestion for hotel would be: please improve WiFi connection in rooms. Despite this minor problem, we would definately come back next year.
