    A Christmas Ruined

How this hotel rates Three Stars is completely beyond me. It was unwelcoming, cold dark and dingy on first impression which was probably the best impression we got. Having been promised a comfortable hotel in which we could celebrate Christmas we found badly decorated, barely clean rooms with no comfortable chairs to be found anywhere in the hotel. The food was well below the standard of other Austrian 3 Star hotels. Christmas Dinner was packet soup, no roll, A lump of Turkey, frozen carrots hard in the middle soft on the outside, tinned sweetcorn and over boiled potatoes. There was one waitress for all 50 guests who was made to work at a speed so fast she had to place dessert dishes down on the tables and then take away the main course places before guests had finished. Chipped bowls rejected by one table were placed on another and food left out all night was contaminated with the varnish from recently decorated window frames.

Gold Crest. Shame on you. For sending us there.

our bed had burn holes in sheets. and the room was the worst we have ever stayed in. the food was tinned or frozen plated with gravy on to try and hide the fact. we played bingo on christmas day and every other day. our only night trip out was cut short so the driver could have a drink back at hotel. only to find that we were locked out. no way to cash travellers cheques or change money. no bus or taxi service to go elswhere. the list goes on and on. Gold Crest, you took our money well knowing what it was like. SHAME ON YOU.

    Stay away

If you like bad food from tin cans, dirty rooms, broken beds, broken bathrooms, a confusing parking lot, rude personnel that dont understand a word of English - then this place is perfect for you! If not - stay away.

    AVOID!!

RUDE STAFF!!! Came here with the family hoping for a nice night. We did come after check in and where greeted with a nice welcome letter and the keys - so far so good. But when we got to the room half the beds had no pillows or blankets so the kids had to use their own. We decided to speak to them in the morning. However in the morning when speaking they caused massive commotion as there was misunderstanding. They made us feel very uncomfortable in front of all the staff and customers as they raising their voices causing them to all stare at us. We decided to stay for breakfast even thought there was hardly anything there but throughout we where getting uncomfortable stares from guests. There was one staff member is specific who we found very rude, whilst eating breakfast she was saying stuff in her language about us. Whenever we asked for help or to translate some of the breakfast items she would help out.She wasnt serving us property and saying everything had ran out, she also told us wrong info on some breakfast items such as the water was flavoured when she said it wasnt and how there was no meat in the bread when there was- us being vegetarian this wasnt good. This was very upsetting as we had paid for this kind of treatment. We just quickly ate, which was very brief since we could handle this and left as quickly as we could. Sadly we couldnt have our breakfast. However what makes this worse is my daughter left her bag behind and we have been trying for several months now to see if we can get it back but they are being very rude and have proved fruitless. We have a native speaker friend who has tried but managed no luck. I wouldnt even recommend my worse energy to stay here so dont waste your time book a place nice staff especially if you have a family. The only positive aspect is the scenery views, it is a nice place but the staff dont meet to the standards.

    Quiet place. Rude personnel.

If you dont know German, youll be facing A LOT of misunderstandings. A simple question of whether they served vegan/ vegetarian or fish dishes, became a huge argument with the staff. They said they would look into the possibility of said dishes- but they never returned with an answer or a note. They became incredibly angry and quite rude, because we didnt show up to a meal we never said we would. We cooked something special for you and you were gone. We didnt know?! You never told us you had made a fish dish..If we had known we would never have left. But then again, the food isnt that good so we didnt miss anything ¯\_()_/¯ This argument almost made us leave earlier, and we refused to eat at the hotel/restaurant anymore. The room was incredibly old fashioned. Everything made a noise and was either broken or about to break. The bed was the worst bed weve ever slept in. Anything positive? Well the hotel is placed in a quiet location right at the bottom of a mountain. Thats about the only positive.
