The hotel was opened in 1992 and redecorated in 2002. It is the tallest and largest hotel in Suzhou and offers meeting rooms of various sizes among many other facilities. Offering a total of 400 rooms, this air-conditioned hotel features a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, a cloakroom, lift access, a newspaper stand and a hairdressing salon. The café, bar, pub and restaurant cater to guests' dining and refreshment needs, whilst WLAN Internet access, room and laundry service, a car park and bicycle hire are also available.The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, sauna and a gym. Furthermore, there are sun loungers with parasols, aerobics, a hot tub and massage treatments available to guests.The Dynasty Restaurant specialises in fine Eastern Chinese cuisine. A breakfast buffet is served in the morning, whilst guests can order à la carte and from set menus during lunch and dinner. There is additionally a dinner buffet in the evening.

Habitaciones:
The rooms are all installed with more than 10 satellite channels and Internet access. The en suite bathrooms are complete with shower/bathtub and hairdryer and the rooms come equipped with a double or king-size bed, direct dial telephone, radio, hifi, safe and minibar as standard. Tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing set, air conditioning and central heating are also provided.

    Not The Best

    No beer in the bar at 7pm and rooms not the cleanest. Some floors smelt of stale smoke. Food was not the best at breakfast either, not a huge choice and luke warm at best. Staff not the happiest. Would not stay here again.

    The rooms were average beds very hard but this is to be expected in China. On a tour so it is difficult to comment on price. Buffet in restaurant looked amazing but unfortunately we didnt have time to eat there. Breakfast a bit limited

    Revolving Restaurant

    Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Bit tired looking but clean and well managed. Large room with firm bed. Breakfast good mix of East and West. WiFi weak but standard in Chinese hotels. No google or Facebook available. Not a great deal to do in neighbourhood however after a day touring the revolving restaurant on top floor is brilliant value for money. Large selection of foods, order small steaks, lamb chops, pizza and all type of Chinese food, plus beer on tap! All supported by smiling staff. Yes decor is again tired but again clean.

    Superb breakfast assortment

    We got a bit tired of the standard set meals during our guided tour in China. All tasted well but always more/less the same. So breakfasts actually gave the most interesting culinary experiences.Especially so at Grand Trustel Astor in their circular top floor restaurant! A grand assortment of interesting tastes probably because the kitchen focuses more on Chinese customers than on foreign tourists.

    Rotating restaurant

    Hotel with fairly anonymous decor and lobby Room quite spacious and clean apart from the carpet that acts as a dirt collector, there is a desk, 2 chairs and a mini bar. Unfortunately there is space to place only one suitcase. Quite spacious and comfortable bed TV with channels almost exclusively in Chinese as in almost all hotels in China Hotel WIFI almost unusable without a VPN but this is common to all hotels in China Sufficient room lighting Clean and renovated bathroom compared to the room, bathtub with curtain (unfortunately) View from the room on the city which at sunset is not bad An important feature of the hotel is the restaurant on the top floor which rotates and offers a 360 degree view of the city. The food is also good with a large choice of meat and fish Rooms rating 6.5 Bathroom rating 6.5 Cleanliness rating 6 Position 6 Overall rating 6
