  nice hotel located in a very nice area next to a small river

  Very nice charming hotel with secure locked parking for the car. Reasonable prices and rooms are good. Definitely recommended. Briej is a very nice town.

  Never again

  The room was poorly lit, indeed gloomy. You needed mountaineering skills to access the shower, up 2 deep steps, Access to the room was along a poorly lit corridor more reminiscent of one in a pre war factory. Service in the restaurant was poor although the food was good. Breakfast was taken on a gloomy morning in a dining area which half the lights were switched off.

  Hotel-resto correct.

  Have been in bussiness trip in Metz a big town in rgion Lothringen(Lorraine) in France. I was there three years ago in Metz loged in Novotel. But this time a small village town can do.Strolling on website and found this Aster Hotel (in a small town 20 km from Metz) so booked only room-breakfast for two nights. On arrival (late,because of traffic jams),decided to dine in the resto of the hotel. It was a good surpreis. The card is small but all products are of good quality.The table service is perfect,one leads you to your table as if you dance in walz with them. Wein list is not immense but very very good weins for resonable price and at correct temperature served. When the bottel is not finish one can let it kept for the next evening when you come to dine again.The average (very well dined) menu "gourmet"included wein and bottel-water is approx.55 euros.Was fascinated from the freshness and the good test of all dishes. For the breakfast is in general not special than other average hotels elsewhere in France. This small town is a country town for scholl campus and its the reservoire from the river.There are artificiel lake (water reservoire).walking paths around the reservoire,small rapid-resto,camping place,fishing clubs (the carps!),strolling paths in woods.When one enjoys calme country ambiant in Briey you'll be contented.   Potential not exploited

  My room was booked through Logis de France as a Business Stop-over. Location is great, next to a peaceful creek, and at a dead end street with no noisy traffic. The exterior of the building creates an anticipation about a hidden jewel. That should not be the case. My room was one of these rooms you find 13 of the dozen of. Nothing great, no great disaster. Just simply unexiting. The restaurant gives you a first glimps of the Mediterranean sea. Try to mix this with disco music and food that anyone could make, and you find yourself in a place you dont want to return to. This place could have been so much better, considering its location, but the owners have simply made it into a roadside joint. The wine was ok, but did not make up for the rest unfortunately.

  Disappointing

  Hotel tries to give impression of a 3 star hotel but rooms are very basic, poorly lit and uncomfortable. Quality of food for our group was mediocre and we were left waiting for considerable time to be served. Exterior of hotel belies the interior.
