  Id return in a heartbeat

  I enjoyed a fabulous week at the gorgeous Astarti Hidden Retreats in Kythira. My accommodation was extremely comfortable. The design is well considered with lots of natural light and is attractive. Theres plenty of space for one or two people. Best, I loved the views from everywhere. The spa was a welcome luxurious touch. A washing machine and courtyard for open air drying was fabulous after travelling for a month. The outdoor areas extend the space, take advantage of the great views and make you feel that youre part of the environment. A king sized bed, kitchen, plenty of cupboard space and a safe made for a comfortable stay. Breakfast can be served in your room or at an outdoor covered dining area. I chose the latter as it is closer to where the food is produced and easier for the staff and it also provides a beautiful alternative view. Breakfast can include freshly cooked omelette, scrambled or boiled egg, a local tasty cereal, fresh fruit and rich natural Greek yoghurt, bread and local condiments, small homemade savoury pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. The staff are attentive, friendly, kind and helpful. The owner was away when I visited. She left her beautiful place in the very capable hands of Natalia. Not only is Natalia calm, friendly and kind but she provides information about local events, the best beaches for the weather conditions, information about what interests you (eg walks, cooking classes, olive oil tasting), can suggest restaurants and was helpful in researching options when the weather looked like it may affect my onward flight (fortunately it didnt). The owners mother is a great asset too - generous, inclusive, kind and fun. Id return in a heartbeat.

  Hidden (pleasures) retreats

  The car-ferry trip from Neapoli (Peloponese) to Diakofti (Kythira) took 1 and 1/2 hr. Between the harbour and the hotel the distance was 27 km only, but it took to us about 50 min. During the driving with our car we saw a beautiful landscape, picturesque small villages, steep roads and many other things that sharp your imagination, when you leave the City and start your holidays. A few times during the driving, we wondered, where are we going? Although, the final destination was an unexpected place. By the end of that night and speaking truthfully for the whole 4 days we stayed, we experienced one after the other only positive surprises: the apartment, the surrounding area with the jacuzzi, the welcome tray, the quality of the breakfast, the friendly service and many more. We'll be back definitely this year and many of our friends as well.

  Amazing!

  Staying at Astarti Hidden Retreats was amongst our most memorable stays ever. Location is Superb, full of Energy and Good Vibes. Setting of the Bungalows is such that privacy is assured under all times. Views are nothing but stunning. Bungalow is well equipped, comfortable and free from non-essential fanfare. Penny and the Staff were always welcoming and happy to oblige By far the best choice to stay on the Island and certainly a destination on its own. Do Not Miss It!

  Perfect stay

  We got the opportunity to spend 3 nights at this fantastic retreat. The views were stunning and the facilities were perfect for our stay. During the days we explored the stunning island with help from Penny who directed us to stunning beaches and great restaurants. Im sure anyone who comes here will have a lovely stay.

  Quality and good taste

  Definitely we will go back. The only remark it is link to the breakfast,It might be more diversified. For the whole 8 days we stayed, we experienced positive surprises: the apartment, the surrounding area with the jacuzzi, the welcome tray, the friendly service and many more.
