Hidden chargesWe have booked 3 rooms for 3 families, before making booking i have contacted hotel to make sure they have cooking facilities as currently covid -19 going on , we didnt prefer outside food got kids, hotel advised we can cook, and we paid extra $100 per room just to get kitchen facilities, as hotel next door didnt have kitchen was way to cheaper, we should have booked that hotel if we knew about this hidden overcharges. After checking out we had a charged Of $300 on our credit card, and an email stating cooking odour in one room so we charged you extra, immediately we replied to hotel stating, its not fair to charge that amount as we just cooked tuna and chicken sausages for kids, and they didnt have proper evaporating system to take smell away, we tried emailing many times, and calling , no replies I would not recommend this hotel to anyone , whoever book with this hotel be sure to pay extra charges for un necessary things. Because they just want to rip off the customers. They have charged extra $300 for nothing

Absolutely horrendous and disgusting service by General Manager RobertaWe booked three nights at Alpine Gables 32. On the evening of check in, we found the following problems in the family loft room: - Disgusting Soiled / Dried blood on blanket sheets (see photos) - None of the bunk beds made (see photos), multiple hairs on the bedsheets, unclean, and frankly appearing that someone has slept in it - Toilet unclean with faecal material on the toilet seat and in the toilet bowl (see photos) - Endless generator noise in bedroom caused by the bistro downstairs (from the loud exhaust fan), sounding like a major airport until close to 11pm All of these photos were timestamped with date and time indicating photos were taken upon check-in. We called through to Roberta the general manager for the property. We raised our concerns with the cleanliness of the property, and requested new bed sheets. These concerns are frankly highly simple problems to resolve. For a price of $300 + per night, all we wanted were new bed sheets to sleep on, and the room cleaned the next day. We were utterly dismayed by Robertas response, who: - Dismissed our complaints immediately as clear nuisances - That there is no clean bedsheets available, and that we get what we are given" - Abused us for calling her late at night (9:30 pm) - Clearly ignored our complaint that there is blood on the blanket sheet, and despite making verbal and written requests the next day, the sheets were still not changed - Yelled at us for complaining about the bunk beds not being made - stating that this is hotel policy for years - Told us that strangers hairs on bedsheets are normal, and that if we did our own washings, we would also expect hairs - Declared that faecal material on toilet seat/bowl upon check-in is normal and probably caused by us - Dismissed our complaints as being too picky, expectations being too high - Scoffed at us for noting that we expected a clean room for $300+ per night, and sarcastically noted that we obviously have never been to an expensive hotel, that hotels for $600 per night in Sydney would also be the same standard - Couldnt care less that there is significant noise caused by the bistro downstairs till 11pm - Challenged us to take the matter further by posting a bad review on tripadvisor and social media, stating frankly that she does not care, "it doesn't affect her in the slightest" and that she will reply on each negative review (to put that the customer is at fault, lied, or is too demanding, and thus negate any responsibility on her part) We have been to hotels throughout the world, both of excellent and poorer quality, but have never come across such disgusting service from a General Manager like Roberta. Robera is a general manager that simply does NOT care, not of the property, nor of the individual owners of Alpine Gable units, and definitely not the customers/clients. Complaints made to her are seen as nuisances. Never have we made a complaint to a manager, only to get yelled back at almost immediately, dismissing our complaints immediately as too pickyand expectations being too high, and refusing even the most simple requests of new bedsheets. Never have we been dared by the general manager to go post a negative review on social media, and that she will reply and pose this as us being unreasonable. Roberta is a woman that is toxic and quite frankly exceptionally vile in any workplace, yet alone in the hospitality industry as the general manager of a property. Absolutely NOT recommended. The treatment of the general manager Roberta was enough to put us off for the entirety of our stay.

A Great Reason To Go to JindabyneI have never stayed in Jindabyne before and I will be going next week, simply because I want to stay at the Alpine Gables again. I am certain that the Alpine Gables has seen a great many visitors since it first opened. And yet having stayed there for the first time last week, I was delighted with both the ambience, as well as the spick and span cleanliness and overall condition of every aspect of it. There is a kind of vintage yet equally modern feel and it is extremely comfortable. The two-level room with a balcony at the front on the first floor was such a pleasure to be in - aesthetically appealing and nothing like the hermetically sealed rooms of so many city hotels. The bathroom was perfectly clean and well-appointed. A king bed downstairs with a TV is adjacent to a balcony with serene views of the mountains and lake. On the same level, the kitchenette includes a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, sink, cutlery, chopping board but no stovetop, hence the inclusion of an electric frypan, which was more than adequate Upstairs boasts another king bed as well as a double bunk. Plenty of pillows are supplied and there is a sense of privacy and separation from downstairs, making it ideal for families or separate couples. Thirty seconds away, across a small street, is a cluster of shops including a supermarket (Woolworths) and outdoors shop, all appealingly connected by wooden decking. We were greeted by Rachel who is a caring and welcoming ambassador of the establishment. She was both cheerful and professional and keen to know if she could help us at all to make our stay a happier one. This isn't purporting to be the Ritz but its high comfort level and convenience with a cordial, welcoming, and professional atmosphere as well as parking right out the front, make it for me, an ideal place to spend time, especially in the Summer, doing as much or as little as I like. It's reasonably priced and time permitting, I will stay here again and again.
