Lots of construction going on!The attractions were old and had definitely seen better days, the food buffet was just adequate. The only saving grace is the Onsen, which had many different Onsen pools both indoors and outdoors. Hands down this the most varied Onsen we had been to, they even have a wine Onsen which is suppose to be good for the skin. The little mushroom shaped huts had its novelty value and children like it however it just reminded me of old holiday chalets. By the way, don't let children go into the maze by themselves as they have lots of different sections and can be quite challenging, definitely should have adult supervision.

"Lovely dome in dream zone"We stayed in dream zone for 1 night, the domes are really lovely and attractive. The area is suitable for family with kids. Though many areas are under construction, I still recommend those with kids to go, I enjoyed the hot springs very much

Vegan-friendly staffMy husband and I truly enjoyed unique lodging experience here. Only regret is the long distance between the parking lot, reception desk, and the dome we stayed at. It would be better if the facility come with moving sideway plus slopes at the staircases. Besides that, food was excellent, staff were welcoming, and the room was spacious! We wish we could have stayed longer. Dinner and breakfast were served in a buffet style. I contacted the reservation desk a month ago about our specific vegan needs. When we arrived, all the staff from the check-in counter to the restaurant servers knew about us; we were treated to additional customized vegan dishes for no additional charges. Hot springs experience was unlike no other. The indoor baths were spacious and clean. Outdoor bathes were vast and grand. Wooden walkway connects the main open-air bath and other several dome-shaped spa, each with different healthy concept. I felt asleep in one of them as I was completely relaxed and felt safe to do so. Our room came with standard but complete equipment; king-size bed, unit bath, flat-screen TV, mini fridge, AC, chairs and small changing room. Very quiet at night time.

This place is terribleThis place is terrible especially the zoo part. Animals are not well taken care, no green space for them to wander around, they spend most of their days on the cement floor and they look unhealthy as f***. Imagine hot summer in Japan and most of the animals have to stay on the concrete floor with NO SHADE!!! The entrance fee doesn't worth your visit. I went there today and this will be my first and my last time don't go there don't support this black business.

Very poor and overpriced resortWe stayed at Aso Farmland in October for one night and would not recommend it to other travellers. The layout of the hotel domes feels like you are staying in some sort of dystopian suburb. The reception, parking and hotel rooms are all very far apart and require a lot of walking in a boring asphalt jungle to get between various locations. The room itself smelt damp and, while spacious, was just not very pleasant to stay in. Food at the buffet was poor compared to the standard in Japan. The onsen was decent and is the only reason we would give this place more than 1 star. The check in opens late and most of the farmland activities closed early the day we arrived. They also only give a 10% discount on activities to hotel guests. Seeing as this place was several hundred dollars (AUD) for a night this was definitely not worthwhile. Stay elsewhere.
