  A over-all bad Hotel

  I don't know where to start describing what is wrong with this place. Let's say pretty much everything and I give you some highlights here. The staff is unfriendly to borderline aggressive. The rooms are small, very basic furnished and have paper walls so you can enjoy listening to the daytime and nighttime activities of the fellow residents; and there are many activities. If you take a shower you might be surprised you created a swimmingpool in the tiny bathroom due to a lack of functioning drainage pipes. If you call housekeeping for help they will take this personal and first shout than mumble at you in Italian. Speaking Italien language is very useful especially in this Hotel, since they lack foreign language skills beyond the very basics. Also don't go out for dinner if you plan on returning after midnight. The hotel literally locks up and the concept of a night concierge is unknown. Well you might say you got a key surely you will make it into the place somehow. The answer is no. Your only hope is that a guest from the inside walkes by the entrance and let's you in. In my case this only took 90 minutes. What else? Ok, there is a rooftop pool and two jacuzzis. The pool is more like an extended bath tub in size filled with a certain yellowish looking water. The jacuzzis are unique in the way that I never saw cold water versions before. And of course there is a surprise at check out when you realise they added some BS extra cost to your guaranteed rate when you booked the place. When you finally pay them directly including those extra fees, because you can't stand the place any longer and just want to leave, you get a final surprise in form of an email from your booking platform that the inital booking was cancelled by the hotel due to a no show! Im hindsight, I honesty wished this would be the case.

  Excellent central hotel.

  I have stayed regularly at the Hotel Ascot Oberdan, as it is now called, for the last 5 years or so. Some recent reviews have been less than kind but I have to ask - what do you expect of a three star Hotel? You want a bigger room - go 4 or 5 star (and pay the extra). We have always been treated with great kindness by the family who run the hotel. Yes there are some language difficulties but nothing that can't be overcome with patience. The breakfast buffet put on would shame many a 5 star hotel. The location is excellent. In short - I have stayed there many times and am more than happy. I hope my stays continue for many years. Please don't be put off by some of the complaints. You're missing a gem.

  too small and too old rooms...pls close this Hotel...

  Price too high...pool sorry but that's a baby pool around 2 x 3 m2, deep 0.7m... ok the build a new Swimming pool area next to it the only very nice thing 7x18m but why! And it was placed directly in the sun. We got the seaside 250m from there. Rooms too small really i have seen a lot but a bunker bed that old and a double bed to give to a Family of 4 no thank you - we left imediately. Our room was 14,5m2 including bahtroom and balcony so u can imagine how big the sleeping room was?! There was no space for our baggage one piece! I am sorry I love Italy but the most of the hotels (exceptions very less they have) are all very old and very small... u just pay for the all inclusive food breakfast lunch and dinner... but why - italia is so cheap take breakfast that's enough especially with children. the room with breakfast was usd 180! hello for sure 100 too much or 120! we found for the same price a 4* hotel total room was 34m2 (incl bahtroom and balcony) with top breakfast (exceptions exist as I wrote but too less in Italy) sorry but Oberdan should close this Hotel and like the others build some new big appartments instead of poor small Hotel rooms... Around this hotel there are many others like this just for your Info... I don't know how others can rate this hotel that good....really don't get it...

  excellent service

  very good service by a professional team. very good local food very nice lobby to seat and relax from the first contact to the check out Serena and Marco were very helpful and kind. Thank you we will be back on summer to enjoy the pool :)
