    Picturesque view from room

This great hotel has an picturesque view from your room at night. It is awesome. The staff are all very friendly and welcomingly. The room is big and clean with toiletries provided. The buffet dinner and breakfast is moderate, nothing to shout about. If you don't have a car, it is difficult to get here. You need to drive here. It is far on the edge of the town.

Stunning views, a little old, but a great price

Wonderful friendly staff greeting, although limited English, enough to get by. Slightly run down/old hotel, but for its price, most people would be happy to put that to the side. Still very clean hotel. Rooms are a tad on the smaller size than your usual western hotel, but this is Japan and its pretty good for its price. although no wifi is available, if you ask at reception kindly they have one or two wifi hot spot converters to the Ethernet provided. Onsen was nice and hot and a sauna topped it off nicely. Very quiet in winter, but its nice getting a hotel to yourself. Restaurant served up a lovely sashimi dish. All rooms have a view of the beautiful city at night. Would recommend if you have transport/car on hand as access to the city is a 10 minute drive. A very affordable price for the quality on offer. And did I mention the staff were very friendly and welcoming?

    did not meet our expectation

The Japanese style breakfast was good. Staff at breakfast dining room was very polite and cheerful. We also appreciate the complimentary coffee/tea at lobby - to relax in the evening (with city view). A little "hot bath" (not exactly onsen) was available. Not exactly fantastic, but was "exclusive" to us since we seemed to be the very few guests at the hotel. There were 2 massage chairs for use - complimentary too. However, the whole place was very dated. Old, need renovation. The city view was ok in the night. In the day, it is not exactly pleasant view. Because we visited during off peak, it seemed like we were the only guests at the place. The twin rooms (with city view) were old, need some renovation. The common corridor had a strange smell. At booking, we were not given the selection of the "zoo theme" rooms - which I thought was what we booked. And was told those were only available at other "japanese booking sites". At the price we paid for 2 twin rooms (with city view), I would be able to get a newer accommodation closer in town. But I chose this place 'cause I thought the view and it being on a hill-top would be nice. It was a real disappointment.
