Too cold but beautiful views!Ifrane is a small students' town in the mountains. It has been built in the 1920s by the French colonizers who have realized that the climate there has been pretty much an Alpine one and decided to create something for the French families - a place where they can go in the winter, go skiing, enjoy the snow... Thus, Ifrane looks nothing like a Moroccan town. That's why Arz Village Apart-Hotel has no remeblance to the typical Moroccan riads. The whole complex consists of small residential buildings and houses (it's possible one of the purposes is to serve as a students' dormitory). Everything is brand new, many of the houses are not even open. Which brings us to the first problem - it was very cold! We booked an apartment for two but the available options were for more people so we ended up in an apartment with two bedrooms with a bathroom attached to each bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. The staff hasn't come up with the idea of turning on the heating earlier so when we arrived late in the evening we were face with a stone cold apartment. It only started getting warmer in the morning. The heating is just airconditioning and since I have a sinusitis I couldn't really stand the whole "blowing air in my head" thing, thus, during the night we had to turn off the aircon in our bedroom. Another issue was the hot water - there was hot water in the evening but pretty much none in the morning. I was also surprised to see that there no amenities - I would expect that when a hotel is provind a hotel apartment there would be some dishes and glasses left at least. Otherwise, the rooms are beautifully decorated - the design manages to be quite modern but at the same time it has a glimpse of the Moroccan culture. The whole hotel village is surrounded by mountains and you can even see the ski slopes! It is located to the end of the town but since it is a small place you need less than 5 mins in the car and you can be right in the city center. I guess in an year time Arz Village would improve - maybe ones they start having more guests and it gets more developed.

The flat looks way better than the building's wallsBad first impression: cracks in the building's walls, old paint. But once you enter the flat, the magic happens: nice furniture except nothing in the small american kitchen, no plates no glasses no cooking utensils. The heater works fine and you can ask for extra blankets and towels. The staff is very friendly and helpful. the flat has 1 bedroom, 1 master bedroom (with a bathtub), a bath room, a living room with TV and an American kitchen with a fridge and a tiny stove. Excellent for a week-end if you are not planning to cook
