  Avoid!

  This isn't the worst accommodation in the world, but it's pretty terrible. While the location is ok, everything else was shockingly bad. The price is a huge rip off compared to everything else available in Arugam Bay. The staff speak very little English and the owner is dodgy and tried to rip us off further on checkout. The grounds are full of rubbish. Our room was dirty and the pillows, being mouldy, were a particular highlight. The air conditioning did not work and we couldn't open windows because there was no mosquito net. In summary, my wife and I were tired and booked this place by accident. It's too late for us, but we can still save you. Please, don't stay here. Try anywhere else in Arugam Bay.

  Overpriced and slack workers

  I stayed here with friends. My room was ok but considering what we paid I would expect much better. The bathroom wasn't clean and a mosquito net is badly needed on the bed. I was kept up by bugs all night. The staff are the worst part. We only had breakfast twice out of the 6 days (and it was included) as they were up late drinking most nights and couldn't be woken up the next morning because they were so hungover. They also sleep on the floor of the restaurant. They have the TV on until late making the whole restaurant area depressing. One night they all had a fight at 1am and I had car headlights shining through my window while someone threatened to leave. One staff member, Demar, was amazing and tried to get them to wake up. He went above and beyond, he would cook (because the others were asleep) and would climb the tree to get coconuts for us to drink. He also cleaned nonstop. He was only employed for 3 days apparently. He lost his job while we were there- I think the other staff were jealous he was so good. He should be the manager. They did cook two good meals however. One good breakfast (at 10am when they woke up) and one good traditional dinner. Staff speak minimal English. Good location as its on the beach. They have wifi which worked most the time. Much better palaces to stay for the price.

  Terrible

  Unfriendly staff, didnt get new towels, no matress for the sunbed and breakfast took more than 1 hour. And breakfast was an omelette with two pieces of bread! Place wasnt clean either. Stay away! When we payed I asked for reciept, but the guy just put the money in his pocket and walked away. Awful place

  Don't go here!

  After we'd finally arrived in Arugam Bay from Adams peak (very very long and tiring journey) we first couldn't find this place. Everyone kept sending us in different directions. We arrived on the right date but when we finally found it the guy had given our BOOKED room to someone else. They acted as if it was the most normal thing in the world and even acted as if it was our fault instead of theirs. Terrible experience.

  Ruhige Lage, super schön!

  Me and my boyfriend were staying 2 weeks in the simply Hut. We were absolutely exited! You are directly at the beach and just 50 meters in front of the ocean. All People working there are very friendly and helpful. We had the luck to meet the wonderful host Asaranga, who worked there during our stay. There are very cute dogs living at that place, which are very thankful for some food leftovers or water, what we have provided them every day. We will always come back to that place and recommend it absolutely. Lena and Jochen from Germany
