Cool reliefAfter catching a train from Taormina & walking miles in the afternoon heat carrying packs our air conditioned room in b&b artemide was a god send! The room & ensuite were both clean & spacious for the money and relatively luxurious. The men were friendly & helpful despite not having much English. Their location is fantastic in the center of ortygia but this is not a beach holiday. You might need a car to get to the beach. Keep an eye put for the free shuttle around ortygia or to the station which goes regularly from piazza artemide.

Lovely place to stayStayed for 3 nights. 3 beds, a food sized ensuite and tastefully decorated. Each day we came back in, the room had been properly cleaned and smelt amazing- nice to have a fresh, welcoming place to lay your head. Perks included a small flatscreen tv and air con in the room. Also the small reception had a fridge for you to store food or purchase water or drinks from- convenient! The owners are welcoming and friendly and approachable. They seemed to take great pride in their B and B- and so they should as it's a little gem of a place to relax in. Only slight criticism. would be there is no phone signal due to the high walls and the location. If they had wi-fi it would've been 5 stars!

Almost perfect, but one B is not enough for a B&BThis is where you should stay if you go to Syracuse. Wonderful location in the old town, good service, nice rooms, clean and quiet. The only problem whit the our rooms was that the windows overlooked the corridor and that there was no mobile signal getting through the two walls to the courtyard. So if you are here on business, I would have to recommend you to stay elsewhere. Sadly, because this is a really nice place. Then there is breakfast. Artemide uses the opportunity to send yo to a nearbu cefé wkith a berakfast ticket. The problem here is that the café is not really that nearby and that the breakfast they are offering for your ticket i strictly Italian: A cornetto fillled with something sweet and sticky and a cup of coffee. Even water is extra. A B&B shoud be not just one B. We later find a café around the corner that served excellent breakfasts.

DO NOT STAY AT THE ARTEMIDE OR HOTEL AURORAA very disappointing stay. The owners are incompetent at managing a B&B or it seems that any other facility. The amenities mentioned at the time of the reservation were not provided. No one was available at the time of arrival or departure to take care of administrative matters. When I called the number at the door, the phone number was for another Hotel Aurora. The lady on the line told me to come to Hotel Aurora. Getting to the other hotel cost me to drive through the Limited Traffic Zone, which will result in a fine. Once there, the lady said that she had no booking for us and asked us for a much higher rate to stay. At this, I decided to go back to the Artemede. Sorting all this out wasted 4 hours of our trip. The owner (over the phone of course) did not want to take any responsibility for all the misinformation. Further, the place was under construction and dusty all around. No wifi was available. I'm not sure, but it almost seems like they are running some sort of scan in collaboration with Hotel Aurora. I have pictures as well, but haven'tt uploaded them to the website. DO NOT STAY AT EITHER THE ARTEMEDE OR HOTEL AURORA.
