  Little Nemacolin Woodlands

  We were looking for a hotel with a 2-bedroom apartment in the middle of Carinthia near a lake but the few suitable hotels could only booked from Saturday to Saturday. We found the Art Lodge on the Internet and booked it as it looked pretty cool and relaxing. I did not expect that such a "different" hotel exists in Carinthia. The color combination of dark brown (wooden walls), green (the pool) and the pink chairs I have not seen before. Not only chairs are pink. Also the evening menu is written in pink and both well-behaving and relaxed dogs wear pink neck bands. The idea of a hotel in a natural setting exhibiting arts and offering outdoor activities is not new. 20 years ago I stayed at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania which an impressive art collection in the hotel and sculptures and oldtimers on the surrounding golf course. I have been in many hotels, I have not forgotten Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and for sure, in 20 years I will remember the Art Lodge.

  Beautiful place in the quiet Austrian Carinthia

  so nice poace with a happy position in the green mountains over blue lakes, I ve been there with my dog Nisse for three days; we were accepted very kindly, the hotel is family-driven by two artists who filled it with pictures sculptures and lots of art. the dog was also well welcome with lots of attentions. Nice food at the restaurant with attention to the biological products. Superb breakfast with buffet+on call eggs and speck, makes you feel home. Suggested +++++

  Amazing get-away....

  Simply stunning! After a 4 day city trip to Vienna we stayed at Art Lodge for two nights to enjoy some peace and quiet. Great rooms, natural pool, loving hosts, perfect breakfast and dinner. The view from our room was stunning. We had room 12... Wine, beer, coffee, tea are available for free at the mini bar stations. Will definitely come back soon!

  Art and hospitality

  Absolutely wonderful place. Katrin and Dirk have poured their hearts into this hotel and it really shows. Both are wonderful hosts who love what they are doing and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. The hotel is a perfect mix of old and new with some edgy art in the mix. The surroundings are beautiful and there are a number of great walks, accessible from the hotel. They serve dinner, too, on 5 days of the week (not Sun and Thurs, I believe). The food was fantastic and excellent value, as were drinks from the bar. There are 2 more places to eat/drink in walking distance. We stayed in the Loft: the pictures don't do the room/suite justice, really spacious with a balcony and a terrace - what more could one ask for. Although not really necessary, a rental car greatly helps to get up and down the mountain and explore the area. Highly, highly recommend this place.

  Fantastic

  If you want to enjoy nature and art, great food and stylish atmosphere, relaxed people and perfectly designed housing - this is it! I especially recommend the tiny houses. You are on your own but can also join the hotel amenities if you want to. Great hosts, great location, great food, great everything!
