  Very good location for Takada cherry blossom

  Very helpful front desk for many requests from our part. Perfectly located in Takada. Satisfying restaurant. Even if we were in a smoking room (no more no smoking room available), the smell was very limited and we had a nice stay.

  Good for a one night stay

  We stayed one night as except for the castle park there is not much to see in Joetsu. Staff were friendly and spoke English. The room was clean, but the airconditioning was weak which resulted in an uncomfortable night. To be fair, I did not lodge a complaint as it was a one night stay and did not feel like moving rooms. Breakfast was nothing special.

  Great hotel

  This is a nice business style hotel. The room, as usual in Japan, was fairly small, but doable. The room and hallways were clean and quit. The beds were comfortable. Checkout was friendly and efficient. If in Joetsu again, this is were we would go. They do have parking, but be prepared for a bit of a hassle to find it. Not bad, but we had to go around twice to find it. It is a 10 minute walk from a train station as well. We would go here again when in the neighborhood.

  Best Hotel in Joetsu / Naoetsu area

  Been to this place in Spring, Autumn, and Winter. There are only 4 choices in the area and this one is by far the best. A short 20min walk to the Takada Park and Castle and short stroll to the the adjoining street arcade makes this hotel a very prime located property. It's an hour's drive to the Cupid Ski resort and is about a block away from the nearest medical center for those wary of health issues. The breakfast is ho-hum though, but a practical fill your tummy for the day's adventure type. I suggest you book months ahead if you plan to visit in Spring and enjoy the Hanami Sakura festival.

  Fantastic breakfast, great stay

  The check- in went well, and the friendly desk clerk helped me find a place to park my bicycle. I was given Room 1014, with a view south. The room had a double bed, a work desk, mini- fridge, tea service and the usual amenities. The bathroom was small and a bit dated, but everything functioned well. The surrounding area was dead when I checked I around 4pm, but by 7:30 it was lively, full of people, and all the restaurants had opened up. The room was very quiet and the window opened for fresh air. The bed was comfortable, with a nice reading light. Breakfast, in the Allegro restaurant space, was excellent. There was a wide variety and very high quality, and the hot dishes were actually hot. Nice touches included an Italian- strength cappuccino, real butter and salt and pepper grinders. The fried chicken was outstanding. It was a great breakfast.
