    mostly my own fault but...

I was booking late for a night during the Cherry Blossom festival, so I probably got the worst room in the hotel. It's very possible that other rooms are much nicer. Our room was small, basically just slightly larger than the bed. It was serviceable. It was a smoking room because there were no non-smoking rooms available. The staff were friendly enough although none I encountered spoke more than a few words of English. There are vending machines by the elevators where you can buy TV time cards (not sure how that works) and coffee/drinks. There is a 7-11 in the downstairs of the building, so that's convenient and the bus stop/train station is right outside the lobby door, also convenient. However, less ideal is the fact that every time a train goes by in the night, you can hear it. Even up on the 10th floor where I was. I paid a lot (over $300 equivalent) for what I got, but it may be that the prices were elevated during the festival time.

Lovely well located and maintained hotel

Our group of 3 took 2 rooms here during the cherry blossom season just before golden week. The hotel appeared to be newly renovated and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included in our room tariff and it was a good spread - dishes were replenished promptly and the variety was good enough for me. Service staff was helpful - they helped fill the forms to forward our luggage to our Tokyo hotel after our 5-night stay. Location was great - just a few steps from Hirosaki Station. From the hotel/station, it was always an inexpensive cab ride everywhere that a visitor would want to go - Hirosaki Castle Park, Apple Park, etc. Everything worked well in the newly renovated room - water pressure was good, ventilation was good - just do not draw the curtain fully and enough air from outside will make the room temperature comfortable enough. The hotel had a well stocked souvenir shop and direct access to the 7-11 up to 7pm daily. I have been told by my travel agent that this is the best hotel in Hirosaki at the moment. Having stayed here comfortably for 5 nights, I would not hesitate to check in here again on my next visit.

    Really small room

We had a "double" room but there was barely enough space to swing a proverbial cat. The bed was very small (by western standards at least) and there was so little floor space we couldn't put both our suitcases on the floor. Their twin rooms (at least one we took a sneak peak at) are quite a bit bigger but they only had a smoking room available so we didn't switch. Their English website claims they have fitness facilities but these are in fact not directly part of the hotel and are in a neighbouring building for which additional charges apply.

Best view, smelly room, run down

What's good, nice view of the city and the surrounding mountains. What's really bad. Every room is smelly with stale cigarette smoke, you are sure to smell like a chain smoker after staying here for a night. The hotel recycles the room shoe and there's probably old warts in there looking for a new host. Car parking is 700 yen per night.

    THEY CAME TROUGH FOR ME

When booking was done an error was in type of room, this hotel worked hard to fix it and did. that says a lot for me. The rooms are a good size and well appointed. Staff was great throughout the stay and helpful with all needs I had arise. It is almost part of the rail station for location great.
