  Central hotel with view over the river

  This small hotel in the centre of Compiegne had been very newly decorated. The bed was very comfortable. All windows had small balconies. There was tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge to keep milk/drinks cold.

  Just not good at all.

  Armor Hotel During a recent family holiday to france my car broke down and as such needed to be sent to the local dealership garage to be repaired this took me over my stay and as such my breakdown companie booked me a budget hotel in Compiegne, The hotel they chose is the Armor Hotel. The location of the Hotel is advertised as on the river, this is a bit of a stretch as its near the river, across a road and carpark, speaking of the carpark its an underground carpark with a max charge of 8.00 per 24/hr it is secure and has CCTV and security so it's safe to leave your car with luggage as I did. I arrived at about 12PM and was greeted by a man who was being bothered by a salesman.. The armor Hotel advertises they Speak English, Spanish and French, Parlez-vous anglais? No Great so onto my broken bad French to get my booking, luckily I only had to mention the RAC assistance and he knew about my booking, I was given a key for a double, card for a triple room and a card for a single room.. You are given a code for the main entrance in get in, and desk is pretty much only manned for a few hours a day. Now this is a fault on part of the RAC but I had one person in a wheelchair and the hotel has no elevator, just three flights of steep stairs! Luckily for us, I had sent that person back to the UK using other means. The Website advertises all rooms come with a view of the river a balcony and safe and fridge, its misleading, as none of our rooms had a balcony and the view of the river was only visible from 2 of the rooms by leaning out of a window and the 3rd floor, there was no fridge only a communal one on the 2nd floor and no safe at all. The single room was basically a bed in a bathroom, the bed was literally a few feet from a toilet with a window above head height, so no view but the sky, a TV on the wall and that was your lot.. The Double consisted of 2 single beds of different heights pushed together very crudely but to be fair were pretty comfortable, with a dim lit en-suite, upon arriving my bed was unmade, and the previous occupiers dirty cup, coffee and sugar packets were on the table, the kettle was very dangerous and leaked everywhere.. I complained and my bed was made up upon arriving later, but to be fair i didn't like the fact someone had gone into the room while I wasn't there with my possessions about, but nothing was touched or taken.. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel as there are far better ones around it very close, it has nothing going for it over other budgets even the price seems to be more. My advice would be look elsewhere.

  Horrible

  Noisy, filthy, and dangerous. The bathroom faucet was rigged so that the more you tried to get cold water towards the right-hand-side, the more scalded your hands got. The shower valve had been installed in such a way that either you got a boiling hot reasonable water flow, or a cold tiny trickle. I was kept up for several nights by illicit activities from the next building over, and the door slamming of patrons and housekeepers. The lobby is disgusting, and there is no elevator, by the way. The management and helpers puts on very broad smiles, apologize repeatedly and convincingly, and promises you the moon; they've probably been putting on this act for decades. Never again.
