  Good service

  It's a nice hotel, good location (could probably get a hotel a bit nearer to the main restaurant area though). It has pretty good service overall, the room was a bit ordinary for 4 stars but clean and tidy. Didn't try any of the facilities but they looked pretty good. The breakfast buffet was very nice.

  VERY FRIENDLY STAFF

  To tell the truth...if the staff would not have been that friendly and nice as they were, we would have left. Great location, great sea view but the rooms are out dated already 5 years ago. If you only look at the tv you still believe DDR times might just have passed. The guy at the bar does the most fantastic drinks and has won a lot of prizes and reception and housekeeping are very nice, like actually all of the staff! Still, this hotel needs definitely renovation! And, believe it or not, they charge for WiFi!

  Fantastic Break

  I visited for a short break after a hectic Xmas period. Great to relax in the spa and enjoy the great hospitality of the staff. Also the surrounding nature is very beautiful. Not my first visit to this hotel, but once again one at the top of my list when in Germany. Hope to visit again soon

  Great Location - Friendly Staff - Room for Improvement

  I'm starting positive: 1. great location right on the promenade and beach. Walk out the door on the back and you can start walking/hiking either the promenade or on the beach either to town or towards nature, as you like. Very beautiful scenery. 2. I got a room on the 4th floor w seaview as I had asked for, was very happy about that. No balcony, but balcony door, but didn't miss a balcony as it was winter. I had asked for "away from the elevator and no connecting door" which also was fulfilled. 3. The staff is 99% superfriendly and helpful. The barkeepers do the most amazing (and affordable) cocktails. Good to know: 1. If you come by car, book a hotel parking space (either open air or garage) upfront, costs 14 per day, there's no street parking. 2. When we were there (Dec/January 2018) there was construction noise next and opposite of the Hotel streetview side. 3. Room rates differ very much according to season. e.g. around New Year I had to pay 197 for a double room w seaview single occupancy incl. half board. This price dropped to 79 after Jan 2nd same room same arrangement. That's not limited to the Arkona, just good to know. Room for Improvement: 1. I was looking forward to eating fresh fish at my half board dinner - after all we're on the coast - only there was none, that was very disappointing. Food is average for a 4-star hotel. 2. Only one person at the reception during main checkout time. Sometimes receptionists were a bit brash, I guess that's their form of humour. 3. Spa treatments are advertised, however for those you need to walk over to the sister Hotel Rugard. There's one (newly built - hence construction noise) apartment house between those two hotels, they're not far apart, but if weather is nasty that's not very pleasant. Met a rude person at their reception as well, again, probably their form or humour. 4. There are two slow elevators in the Hotel Arkona. One of them was not working from Dec. 30 to Jan. 2nd, a very busy time. So you had to wait for ages for the one functioning elevator. As this hotel is frequented mostly by an older crowd this was not a good thing. But sure enough, right after Jan 2nd, when most people had left, the 2nd elevator was repaired and worked. All in all I'd say the Hotel offers good 3-star quality. Location and friendly/helpful staff are a big plus.

  Amazing Restaurant

  the restaurant is really big and the view is wonderful. Staff is really polite and know English as well. Buffet area was really big with a wide variety of food to choose from. Excellent service which made me feel at home :)
