Karen & Alannahs ReviewJust arrived back from our holiday to Arkadia Hotel, with great memories and a great experience. Absolutely fell in love with family the and workers that run the hotel. You are almost made to feel like part of the family. Rooms are cleaned every day and the food was out of this world! Next time we would rent a car as the hotel is in a beautiful and peaceful setting with lovely views but if you want to get to town you will need a car. Overall, we would highly recommend the hotel. Purely for the people you will meet and the experience you will have. Karen & Alannah x

Not the relaxing holiday expectedWe were two couples holidaying together. Neither room were the deluxe room with sea/pool view we had booked. One room did not have the view, but had been upgraded, the other the bathroom and kitchen were very old and still needed upgrading, not the room as advertised in the pictures. My room was directly above the restaurant/bar/lounge area and was very noisy at night. I asked to change room and explained why, but was told this was not possible (the hotel had plenty of empty rooms). I was told however I could change rooms with the other couple (my sister) who didn't have the view! I was kept awake at night by the noise, sometimes until after 2.00am. The owner of the hotel was often with the guests making the noise, as he has a very loud and distinctive laugh. I cannot understand why we could not change rooms so we could get a decent night's sleep. The apartment (?) had no wine glasses. On arrival my husband had bought a bottle of wine from the bar, and we therefore got two glasses. A few days into the holiday my sister asked for two wine glasses from the bar, as she was being given them the owner came and told her she couldn't have them and said she should get the wine glasses from my room. We were out for a walk at the time, so he tried to give her the key to my room, which she refused, so he took her into my room to get them, which I find totally inappropriate. The pool was too cold to swim in, and the gym was closed due to a guest having broken the treadmill two days prior. It says it is a well equiped gym, so I don't know why we could not use the other equipment. The four foot wide kitchen worktop area in my room, which contained the sink, small plug in electric hob and draining board (which housed the cutlery as there was no drawer) was extremely difficult to cook anything in, there was no room for plates, or to prepare food. There are no buses running, although there is a bus stop, so suspect they run during the peak season. The taxi to town was 11 euros, but the driver took 13 euros, and the taxi driver who took us to the airport said it was 25 euros, but for us to give him 30 euros? All in all, lack of sleep, not being able to self-cater, swim or use the gym made for a quite miserable holiday.

Hotel / Apartment worth recommendingMy wife and me spent some nights at the Arkadia Hotel Apartments. The rooms were very tidy the staff very friendly, especially the owner was a very good host. We did not take the breakfast, because I used the kitchen in the apartments, but had dinner several times. The hotel offers special menus every night additional to the standard options. Whatever we tried was very well prepared and a typical Greek cuisine. The view from the terraces to be sea at night is very impressive. Therefore I just can recommend the Hotel to everybody who wants to stay at a decent hotel with top dinning and a very friendly staff. Moreover the location is well suited for travelling to the north or south of the island...

Perfect Hotel for a relaxing trip to ZanteThe Arkadia Hotel was incredible and we are really happy we picked it. It is in a quiter part of the island, right on the coast and surrounded by olive trees so the views are great in all directions. We went walking in the evening and all around felt very safe and peaceful. The pool area was spotless everyday and there were chairs with umbrellas and chill music playing if you like. The owner and all the staff including his daugter couldn't have been nicer. Very welcoming and fun to be around from the moment we arrived. They speak perfect english and even taught us a few Greek words to help with the rest of the holiday. Whenever we wanted something even very early or late they were around to help. We stayed and had lunch and dinner at the hotel alot because the food was so good and so reasonable. We were pleasantly suprised with how low the tab was when we left as we had really treated ourselves with meals and drinks. Speaking of drinks the owner makes amazing cocktails, the Pina Colada was his specialty and I agree it was definitly my favourite. The rooms are exactly as shown on the booking sites, spacious, clean and have A/C which was nice and powerful. The bathroom was really modern and had a large overhead 'rain' shower that we loved. The balcony was nice to relax as always had a great sunset in the evening. The only noise was from the Cicadas (sound like crickets) that are all around in the trees. I found them relaxing but as soon as you close the balcony door it is very nice and quiet. We did not rent a car or bike but they are available from the hotel. If we wanted to explore more we would have but it was very cheap to get to the nearest town Tsilivi in a taxi that the hotel will call for you. And a taxi to the airport was 25 euros or I believe the hotel can collect you but we booked very last minute. They were also very safe with regards to covid. They did not strictly make you wear a mask everywhere but they always did themselves when around you or serving food. They let all guests know to tell them if you are ever uncomfortable and did temperature checks very quickly and with a smile at breakfast each day. Also as I said about the pool the place was spotless and we never felt at risk. We can't wait to go back and stay even longer, I recommend staying at Arkadia for anyone looking to have a relaxing, summer break.
