Average hotel with pleasant reception staffA very basic hotel at a good price. Do not expect luxury but it is clean and basic. The reception staff speak English and will help you wherever possible. The rooms are not cleaned unless you put up a sign requesting this. The breakfast is very basic but works and there is no alcohol served in the hotel. There is however a good supermarket next door where you can buy a drink and keep it in the fridge in the room. Guests can be quite noisy.

Hotel staysIt was a great time we had in this hotel since we arrived at the busy period in Azerbaijan because it is the tourist season and it was hard to find a hotel at this time with good quality and rate all over the staff was friendly ,the location good as well just 10 min from Nazimi street and the good thing you will have a supermarket very close from the hotel .

The worst stay of my lifeThis hotel is awful in any aspect. Dirt everywhere, unpleasant food and breakfast (cold eggs and slate cheese for example) and the staff are not helpful at all. For example one day I asked for teabags and they said there is no teabag in hotel. Free water, tea and coffee is a lie. During our 5 day stay, they only gave us 3 small bottles of water. More importantly, my jacket was lost(stolen?) we ask them to review camera records, but they did not. Suddenly the jacket showed up in another room! . . . . . . . . . . .

Total con do not attempt to book this NON-EXISTENT hotelArrived at 03:00 after flight to be told hotel has just changed ownership and name and dispite payment already taken said no rooms available. It was only the taxi drivers insistance that the staff agreed to send me to another hotel. Arriving at this hotel there were two sets of British travellers who had also been told their booking had been cancelled arguing for a room turns out this was very common because they like us had arrived for the Arsenal Chelsea match and these hotels had found out they could charge a fortune for rooms so cancelled already booked and paid for travellers. This new hotel Askar was an unmitigated disaster. room had a very noisy air conditioning shaft that was not for our room so could not switch it off so needed to purchase some ear plugs to even sleep. Door had been broken into and lock forced so room key had different hotel name and room number. dirty and broken fittings. so did not even try eating there. Had booked for 4 days but left early and found another hotel.

Be careful! The first negative happened when they told us that we booked economy rooms and they wanted to take us different branch of their hotel which was Hotel Riva which I know as another very economy hotel and horrible the same time, so they were going to lie and take us in a very cheap hotel. We started to warn that we would claim, so they gave rooms there. Breakfast was poor and one more strange thing, my room key was opening all rooms in the hotel, other keys also were opening other rooms! Price is big according to what we meet there, location is far from the center, so I don't know why so many people visit them. Not recommended, although some rooms were nice and reception boy Orkhan also good person. oh and yes, they offered tea for free cause we were waiting longer and than asked to pay :)
