Best hotel in XylocastroThe facility is modern, the rooms are spacious (for Greece) and clean and fairly priced, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The only negative comment would be that the breakfast (10 euros extra) was highly overpriced for the rather meager and low-quality offerings . . . but that was easily remedied by having breakfast elsewhere. My husband and I can recommend the hotel without reservation. Be aware that the "beach" across the road from the hotel (which is furnished with sun beds and umbrellas and is served by the waiter from the hotel's bar) is great for sunbathing but not swimming, since the entrance to the water is very rocky. Indeed, all of the beaches in Xylocastro suffer from the same problem. You will need rubber beach shoes that you can wear in the water. (Once you're in the water, however, it's spectacular--crystal turquoise that gets deep very quickly, no place for small children.)

Best hotel experience in Greece so far!We visited totally on the last minute, for a 3-day, 2-night excursion, thanks to a national holiday; the hotel was totally booked and a last room was available, with a double bed and a sofa-bed for our daughters. And what a room it was! Spacious, spotlessly clean, well-equipped.The bathroom was a sight for sore eyes, too; not something extravagant, but clean, spacious, well-equipped, functional and smart.Breakfast was of more than adequate variety and plentiful. The hotel is located in a relatively quiet area of Xylokastro, although right in front of the beach and near to the center on foot. The staff was simply kind and amazing - extra kudos to the impossibly polite girl at the reception. I never got the chance to swim in the outside pool (cold for late October, at least for me), or enjoy the spa services. Will visit again!

Sea front long weekendThis is a very decent 3-4 star hotel, ideally located on the beach of Xylokastro next to a magnificent pine forest. Recently renovated, clean rooms, very good breakfast and dinner. The beach is clean but not sandy. There is also a small pool and spa. Very friendly staff. Only drawback is there are no double beds in any room.

Good overall, except their poor cleaning service. The whole experience was great, nice small pool, 19m away from a breath taking beach with a crystal water. The stuff in the hotel are helpful but they could use a bit more smiles (not all of them) Poor cleaning service ( late cleaning and sometimes they completely forget your room if you don't go and talk to the reception . And sometimes you have silly excuses)

HolidayDespite some trepidation, we decided to have a break in Greece whilst the air-bridge was open. We were so glad we did. The Arion was a lovely small hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was nice. Our fridge was the only disappointing thing in that it didnt shut properly. We asked the manager if we could have it changed and he immediately replaced it for us. It was also a good size to store cold drinks, full size water bottles and wine. We were on the third floor and the view was fantastic. Very good and quiet a/c but unfortunately this failed on our floor towards the latter part of our stay and because it was a public holiday it could not be fixed immediately. We did spend two nights without it but as soon as they were able, we were given an alternative room on another floor where the a/c was working fine and it was upgraded to a suite which was great. Staff worked very hard to accommodate guests particularly at breakfast where they had to serve us rather than the usual help yourself style because of Covid but that worked very well as the girls were really efficient. The beach opposite was lovely, clear water and always found an umbrella which was very necessary. Not too busy either probably because of Covid. I would highly recommend this hotel.
