  Decent but overpriced

  We visited Saltis guesthouse in late December (pre Christmas) and had booked a three-person room with panoramic views. Upon arrival we were led to room no.28 which was clean, spacious and faithful to the traditional architecture, with stone walls and a wooden ceiling. However, during our 2-night stay a few issues arose. At first we were slightly disappointed to find the bedroom window faced a wall and the sitting room window had a pleasant but partial (by no means 'panoramic') view of the mountain. In the morning we wanted to take showers but there was no hot water - turns out the owners had neglected to turn the geezer on. The wifi internet connection was unreliable to say the least, our devices appeared connected but webpages just wouldn't load. The fold-out sofa was particularly uncomfortable to sleep on and complemented by a torn duvet. Overall the room could use some modernisation as the decorations/finishes were plain, outdated and outworn - not quite what you'd expect from a room priced at 100 per night. The guesthouse is run by a local family of good-natured and hospitable people, so it was unfortunate they exhibited a slightly amateur stance towards their guests - each of our polite mentions/complaints about the above issues was met with an attitude of self-defence and even disbelief. Overall a pleasant stay but certainly scope for improvement.

  Adorable mountain village experience

  This hotel was a perfect compliment to an adorable village. The hotel host was lovely and showed us to our family suite with a lovely fire place. The room looked out over Volos and it was a short walk up stairs to the town square from the hotel. We would happily stay there again!

  could be better!

  the room had a great view and private parking need a renovation seemed very old inside and smelled humidity breakfast was partialy homemade sufficiently clean we had a little dog with us and this was no problem! a bit overpriced for what it offered

  Beautiful view !

  We rented a room in this inn without any expectations. We stayed only two nights. The room was clean, comfortable with wonderful local touch and contemporary amenities. It even had a fireplace. The room itself was big, the bathroom and shower were big too. The view from the room is spectacular - can see the Aegean sea and the lights of Volos at night. Additionally, this inn has parking and serves delicious, big breakfast on the terrace with the beautiful view. The owners are friendly and caring. The location is great for everyone who goes to Makrinitsa.
