  Staying here for a few days -

  I'm currently staying here and will be at least another night - here are my thoughts. 1. The room - so it seems like they're maybe in the middle of renovations because the bathroom looks like ones I've seen in 4 star hotels and but the rest of the room is kind of outdated. The bathroom is clean, bright and gorgeous, the shower / bath combo is clean and works well. The toilet is definitely great for the environment - low water but powerful flush - which means this hotel cares about their environmental impact. The couch & arm chair combo is a little dingy and the kitchenette has to be 50 years old - but for the price - it's not a concern. One of the knobs on the stove has "doesn't work" written in sharpie above it lol. The carpet seems very new and clean - still got my birkenstocks on though... just in case. 2. The electronics - okay BEST HOTEL WIFI EVER. Hands down - I'm shocked it's almost as good as my wifi at home. Seems like each room has a router - and I brought my xbox and I'm watching netflix with ZERO delay. It's perfect. The TV is at best a 20 inch - like I'll need glasses trying to watch it from the bed. But - with how good the wifi is - honestly - I'm unbothered by the shoe box tv. The lamps all seem to have different types of bulbs in them so I'm getting some trippy while and yellow lighting - not a complaint - it's just a little weird. 3. The bed - the sheets are SOOO bleachy it's like burning my nose and I smell like bleach just from laying in here. My dog is with me and she's stinking of bleach too - you don't smell too much else in the whole room but the wild amount of bleach. But - At the very least it means the sheets are clean lol. The pillows are very thin - if you have neck issues - bring your own pillow if possible. The mattress is pretty firm but also has some soft/ more worn areas and would benefit from maybe a foam topper because you can feel each of the springs - maybe the mattresses will be updated in the reno? 4. The breakfast - I saw some other reviews with complaints about the breakfast - I don't agree. It was good for a free breakfast and a hotel with a very economic price. Two flavours of costco muffins - white bread, whole wheat bread and cinnamon raisin, pb & j- coffee, orange juice, apple juice - fruit loops, cheerios, granola - all in all, for a free breakfast you couldn't ask for more. It's totally reasonable, FRESH and you can get your fill before you leave for the day. 5. The staff - I don't know what's in the water - but all of these people are SO nice. I've interacted with 3 of their receptionists and they are all very nice, polite, professional and accommodating and the cleaning staff is no different. They all deserve a raise - 10/10 for the staff - they're really awesome. All in all - for hotels I've stayed at all over Canada and the States in the same price range, I'd have to say this hotel is one of the top contenders. Honestly - you get a great experience and bang for your buck. If you're going to Edmonton on a budget - check this place out!

  Aesthetically pleasing

  The staff here is very warm and welcoming. The brickwork inside the hallway is really cool. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only complaint is that the air conditioner was loud enough to potentially cause permanent hearing damage lol

  Clean spacious rooms

  Our room had 2 double beds & a small sofa. Ample room to move around. Bathroom was a good size too. The screen on the window was falling apart but at least you could open the window some. The staff are friendly! Rosies restaurant is attached to the hotel, so when booking tell them you want the complimentary breakfast as well. You can order any hot breakfast up to $10.00 & its very good with large portions! We would stay here again.

  Great value!!

  We stayed there again since they have done more renovations. Great staff, friendly, clean. We were not able to get the hot breakfast due to Covid 19 pandemic. If anything was not working, they came right then to assist you. Then you find out that someone unplugged the lights and you had to move furniture to find that out. Pet friendly. We have stayed here many times over the years and always had a good experience.

  Close to Strathcona district and great if you have a pet with you.

  Odd. This hotel has it's rooms above retail and the hallways are super retro. (Bring you gogo boots :). The staff were great and the reservation was super easy. We had our dog with us. The room was super clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. If you get a room facing the front, you can actually keep an eye on your vehicle too.
