  Quiet family resort

  We stayed here with our children 2 and 6 in an oceanfront villa. The villas we're clean and adequately sized. We spent a lot of time in the front patio. They are nicely furnished but not luxurious so if that is what you are after stay somewhere else. We spent most of our time in the pool or kayaking on the lagoon and around the surrounding islands. We paddled across to the resort's island nearly every day with the kids and it was an easy walk from the jetty to the beach on the other side. The nannies keep and eye on the kids and engage them in different activities - trampolines, foosball, making sandcastles etc. One day they took all of the the kids 5 and up on the boat across to the island for 5-6 hours. The kids were pretty excited about their adventure!! When the kids wanted us they found us. I'm regards to equipment some of the kayaks were fairly new. We'd advise people to take their own snorkel gear. There were also SUPs sitting at reception however we were told they weren't for use yet however would incur a fee. We had massages included and enjoyed these immensely, especially the setting! The food was expensive but really substantial. Please be aware that Vanuatu is expensive in general. Even if you wanted to eat somewhere closer to Vila the cost of transport would cancel out any savings. Specific dietary requirements seemed to be an issue. We had confirmed that there would be gluten free options before traveling however GF bread and pasta were never available when requested. Luckily we had brought some supplies ourselves and there was also GF food available at the Au Bon Marche supermarkets (particularly the big one in Numbatu). Dairy free options were also hit and miss. Overall we really enjoyed our time there and felt it was a great way to get the kids away from the TV and into the outdoors making new friends.

  Favourite family retreat

  Highly recommend Aquana for a relaxing retreat with young kids, kids are able to explore and play independently, with nannies freely on hand to participate and supervise. Set up of simple, comfortable 1-2 bed cabins, on a waterfront coconut plantation with pool, trampolines, kids play area, beach, kayaks and organised play activities like fishing, roasting marshmallows or finding hermit crabs. Provides a holiday with and from kids. Owners and staff provide a community, home from home vibe. Our second visit and plan to return.

  If you have kids and want chill stay here

  Small boutique resort with the most pleasant surroundings and attentive staff and absolutely fabulous nannies. Special call out to Marceil (front desk) Lorna & Jeanot (food& drinks) and Annie (day spa). Best place to chill out with good service and great views

  Awesome and Bliss

  Traveled with our one year old daughter, it was amazing. The nanny, the food (vegan and vegetarian) was amazing. Awesome evening dinner and entertainment. The hotel has a massage which as a couple was a bliss especially the nanny looking after our lil one. The room was clean and the host were very courteous and helpful.

  The most amazing resort for families

  We travelled to Aquana for a girls trip (Mums and daughters) and absolutely loved the resort. The amazing service began before we arrived with owner Fabienne being in contact with any questions we had as well as providing us with relevant information. The bungalows were very comfortable with all we needed. The highlight of Aquana is their Nanny service. They dont have a kids club as such but use a model where they employ local nannys to work at the resort. The nannys are always in the resort grounds. Theyre like Guardian Angels, they just appear whenever a child is around. Theyll watch them in the pool, at the beach, on the trampolines, do activities with them, entertain them while parents eat, the list is endless. The idea is that parents can get some relaxation time while the kids are cared for. I cant speak highly enough of them, theyre just like a second Mum! Aquana also look after the parents. Every time we left the resort theyd give us a phone so we could be in contact if needed. The resort has a great restaurant with delicious food. Its expensive but I think worth it considering the quality. And the menu options are extensive, including for kids. Other resort info -you can pay everything in $AU -drivers can be organised through the resort -they have a free shuttle in and out of town once a day, a free walking tour to a local village and snorkelling tours. -the fire show comes to the resort with tables set up on the beach so you can dine and watch the show.
