  All inclusive drinks review only

  Currently staying at Aqua Bay. I will leave a separate review about the hotel. This is a review about the all inclusive drinks only....I had a kir royale on the day we arrived. Basically you can only order drinks or cocktails that stayed 'all in' on the drinks menu. Kir royale states all in. However when I ordered the same drink this afternoon from the top bar outside the reception area I was told it wasnt included....I politely questioned the barman who preceded to advise even though it stated all in on the menu the drink wasnt included. I then asked for a glass of sparkling wine and was told this wasnt included either but I could have an aperol spritz. So I asked for an aperol spritz without the aperol, basically the sparkling wine, again to be told i couldn't have this....not sure the barman understood the irony!

  Great family holiday

  Visited the Aqua Bay with my husband, daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren. Having not holidayed in Greece before was unsure what to expect, but very pleasantly surprised. When we checked in which was very speedy we realised our rooms were not next to each other but the staff changed this immediately without question. Even in these strange times of Covid we felt very safe as all was spotless with hand sanitizers everywhere. Our room was very nice and overlooked the pool area, food was very good and great choices too, in the buffet restaurant you was served by the staff which I can honestly say I preferred, nothing was too much trouble. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and went the extra mile to make our holiday great, thank you to all the team, would definitely go back again.

  Last min Turkey replacement

  Booked as a replacement to our COVID cancelled Turkey holiday. Almost a case of anywhere will do. So glad we went here! Room 120 was ideally situated with direct pool access and only 2 mins walk one way to the on site (and free) waterpark and 60 seconds to the main restaurant and bar. The Room (Family Room with separate sleep area) was clean and well equipped. Food and drink- food is readily available and plentiful although due to how many guests were staying there, queues were inevitable. With COVID restrictions in place food was selected by you and then plated for you which was probably better as it stopped the usual chaos at meal times. Drinks in the bar were served all day-local only unless you wanted to pay for international/named brands. To be fair the local beer and Gins were decent (and strong!) On site waterpark was really handy and provided same all inclusive benefits. The staff worked tirelessly to ensure everyone were well fed and watered- I apologise for the ignorance of some of my countrymen and women. A please and thank you never hurt anyone!!! Sofia the Kind Toast Lady at breakfast- we want to adopt you! Also Litsa-lovely waitress, charming and friendly. The Hotel was by no means perfect-but based on the efforts of the staff I think it would be mean to criticise. Thanks so much Aqua Bay we had a great old time x

  A nice break in the current circumstances

  Like a lot of people this was a last minute booking after numerous cancellations The hotel is probably a 3 star but is really nice & great for kids The room we had was fine for 2 adults & 2 children The staff are doing really well in the current situation & are a credit to the hotel. All of the staff in the restaurant & the snack bar at the water park are really nice & friendly Special mentions for disco Dave on the water park bar, Constantine on the entertainment team & the evening barman at the hotel (never caught his name) The pools & waterparks are great The food variety isnt fantastic but it is nice food The drinks are good, I enjoyed the beer Only let down really was brits who cant hold there booze shouting in the early hours but thats not the hotels fault & thankfully this wasnt every night

  Great for young kids

  We travelled in the last week of the season during the UK half term. It was the last week in October during Covid restrictions. On arrival to the airport virtually one member from each of the travelling party were tested for Covid. Not much in the way of socially distancing while we waiting for tests. Other than that we were through quite quickly but then had a fairly long wait on the transfer bus. On arrival at the hotel it was fairly hectic given it was clearly a lot of arrivals to deal with but relatively painless. Welcome fruit drink was offered. We then were shown to the wrong room by accident. We had been allocated a room by the main pool and the main bar which at first I was worried about for noise but it did not bother us at all until the penultimate night when a group of teenagers set up camp right outside our door. To be fair they did move when I asked them to relocate as they were keeping us all up. Quite a few reviews on here saying the food was good. We didnt think so. I dont know if they were buying cheap food to save on costs but it wasnt great, breakfasts especially poor. Given it was Covid we had to be served all food at buffet. Again this could be a bit frustrating as there were three serving stations but never three staff looking after each one so sometimes you had to wait a long time for your toast or for someone to spot you by the cereal section. Most of the staff were great and clearly trying their best so dont want this to be too critical of them. It just needed a bit more organisation. I realise that this approach is to keep everyone safe, it just became a bit frustrating. Inclusive alcoholic drinks were ok although the soft drinks definitely had that cheap taste to them. The fitness centre needs a bit of an update too. Very old and broken machines down there and no running machine at all. The water park facilities were fantastic and great for kids. Plenty of sun beds and the snack bar was great. At this time of year though there were hundreds of wasps. Not particularly aggressive but annoying. When you head to the bars they are swarming over the drinks to such an extent that the bar staff had to create wasp death trap bottles. It became quite tough to eat the food some days as they flew around the food. We didnt venture too far off the hotel but most of the nearby restaurants and other hotels were closed. In my mind this is a three star hotel which relies too much on its great water park. The hotel rooms are basic and quite tight for space. The rooms and the grounds are quite well kept and certainly look nice but the food in particular was not up to that standard. Kids entertainment was a kids disco most nights some bingo and karaoke. I realise this is quite a negative review so I will finish on a positive. The staff tried very hard to give us a nice holiday in what clearly is a difficult time for all with Covid and we really appreciated that. Also we had some great weather. 6 days sun, 1 day of rain.
