If you need a cooking facility, try this one out!

I have stayed with my family here and it was brilliant! We stayed in a three-beds room, which was surprisingly large. The room was so spacious that my 6-year old child could run around in it without feeling too confined. The windows were huge and, therefore, the room very luminous, even on a cloudy day. The kitchen was also very modern although there were not too many numbers of utensils. Still, a toaster and tea-maker were provided. The receprion staff was very freindly and helpful in giving information about Hamburg. This hotel is a ten-minute walk from the next metro-station and approximately twenty minute walk from the next S-Bahn station, but you can catch a bus to the U-Bahn, which stops right in front of the hotel, if you don't want to walk (we never did, though!). By U-Bahn you are in two stops from the main railway station and another stop from the city centre, so no problem at all getting there. Overall, if a kitchen can be of use to you (in our case, the child is a fussy eater so it is always good to be able to prepare a meal which we know that he likes), you should definitely consider this hotel in Hamburg!

Great value but maybe not for everybody.

Just returned from a 4 night stay here and was overall very satisfied. The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk away from Burgstrasse U-bahn station, which is only a couple of stops away from the Rathaus area, and a few stops away from the Central Station and St. Pauli/Reeperbahn, which is very handy. The problem is it's situated on an industrial estate - which makes it very quiet at night but can be rather loud in the morning when the workers start up. Also, there is barely anything in the surrounding areas when it comes to eating out or for a late night drink. There is an Aldi supermarket around the corner, but this closes fairly early at night. The exterior and old fashioned reception area are a little off putting, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We stopped in a 3 bed room and were very impressed, particularly in relation to the price we paid (worked out at about 23 Euros each per night). The rooms were spacious, clean and there were good kitchen facilities - working oven/hob, kettle, utensils etc. Good sized TV with a range of radio options included, too. Beds were fine though the pillows weren't great (I find this with a lot of German rooms, though). Note if you have small children on higher floor - the windows open right out and are not restricted like the rooms over here, so best be aware of that. Overall, for the price we paid, the room was very good, but it is worth bearing in mind the area - great if you're on a chilled break, but stag/hen do's and similar may wish to look closer to the St. Pauli area for a more livelier district.

    Big rooms, good breakfast.

Largest rooms I have seen in a hotel, with all cooking facilities you could need combined with the luxuries of a hotel. Breakfast wasn't included, but breakfast that cost 7 was sold, and was worth it, comprising cereal, breads, yoghurts, coffee, hot and cold dishes. The beds were comfortable and the shower room was fine. Minor complaints: steps up to the lift by reception. Hard with large bags or disabled people. Located in an industrial estate that is pretty much deserted after working hours. Somewhat noisy outside at night.

Big room, but not so conveniently located.

I stayed here when I arrived in Hamburg and this place offers good value for money. The rooms are very big and there is a small kitchen. Too bad there was no microwave. Parking was easy in the area but U and S Bahn are quite a long walk from here, so better if you have a car or don't mind walking for 15 minutes to the nearest U-Bahn station (Bergstrasse).

    Just the job for us

Stayed for one night whilst over watching St.Pauli. Hotel was basic but clean. Loved the beds, room was massive. Subway is a five minute walk away. Would stay here again if we come back to watch football, however not with my other half on a romantic weekend. Can't fault the place however.
