Sitio genial!

Excellent location for exploring croatiaCannot fault the owners and apartment. We visited on the 22nd August 2016 for a week as a family of 4. Twenty minutes from the airport. Mr and Mrs cakelic were welcoming and invaluable to chat to for local knowledge. Mlini is beautiful but expect a 10 minute walk down some quite steep steps to get to the beach. Not a problem going down as much as going up. Cavtat nearby is lovely but don't expect any beach to have a dip in the sea, Mlini is the place to go in the sea, which by the way is clean and clear with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains. Bus service is good and close to the apartments.large supermarket and shopping centre approx. 30 minute walk away.Restaurants nearby are very reasonably priced . Make sure you visit Dubrovnik at night and I challenge you to find the hole in the wall bar. It's awesome.

Great base to visit the Mlini area of Croatia. Our family of 4 enjoyed 11 days here in July / August 2017 and it is a very nice base for this area. Just 7 mins walk to a local bakery and 10 mins walk to the convenience store and a 15 mins walk to a large shopping complex with a big supermarket, clothes shops and other retail outlets. Yes there are approx 200 steps down to the beach but you are on holiday and so what is the hurry! Run by a nice and friendly couple who gave us some of their own made wine and home produced vegetables as a gift and the room had air conditioning and a balcony with a couple of electric cooker rings which were ideal for pasta dishes. I would really recommend that you take the kayak tour from Mlini beach and you can relax with confidence that this location will suit your needs when visiting Mlini and as a bonus is right next to a great restaurant where you must experience their fish platter! Yes, this apartment is right on a main road but believe me when the balcony door is closed you can't hear a thing!

Perfect place for visiting Dubrovnik combined with a quiet beach holiday. We really enjoyed our stay at Apartments Cakelic. It is located at the main road that runs through Mlini, a small village roughly in between Dubrovnik and the airport (DBV in ilipi). Mind you this is a busy road and you have to cross it if you want to go to the beach. The road runs through the hills and it is quite a climb up and down to reach the beach promenade. Because of the busy road (many stretches without footpath) and the climb (200 steps) I would not recommend this location for the less-abled or if you travel with little children. This was a self-catering holiday and we were lucky to get appartment 5 which is probably the best as it includes a full-size jacuzzi (we did not expect that at all)! We book flight + accomodation with EasyJet Holidays. The building is new and very clean. App. 5 was very spacious. It featured a combined kitchen / living area, bedroom, toilet + shower and a large terrace. There is a flatscreen satellite TV on the wall. Kitchen comes with a fridge, hob and microwave (plenty of utensils and crockery available). There is space on the terrace for the afore mentioned hot-tub + 2 deckchairs + table with chairs and a clothes drying rack. The beds were firm and comfortable. The aircon worked fine and is quiet. Although close to the road there is little road noise with the windows closed as they are double glazed. Housekeeping was adequate. The bus stops for Dubrovnik old town and Cavtat (& other villages) are within 100m from the house. There usually is a bus to Dubrovnik every half hour (once we had to wait 50 minutes). The owners Mr & Mrs Cakelic are very pleasent and speak good basic English. All in all a good place to stay if you're on a budget and want to combine Dubrovnik with a quiet beach holiday. Note not all rooms will be as spacious as app. 5.
