  A place to avoid

  The most unpleasant thing that spoiled the impression of the place was the owner - not hospitable, preaching, rude. We arrived later than expected, exhausted by a long driving in terrible weather, the "warm welcome" from the owner was his really unhappy look and a long monologue on the necessity to call and warn him on later arrival. Next surprise was a strange idea of the configuration of the apartment for a family with 3 teenagers and 2 adults - a room for 3 with a double bed + an old shabby sofa (a room for 3), and a room with a 2 bunk bed ( a room for 2, welcomed the owner). We were really surprised but were too tired and sleepy to argue, so just moved the sofa into the dining room (and found dirty socks in the corner behind the sofa, an artefact from previous tenants, I guess) where one of the kids had to sleep. The apartment was never cleaned during our stay ( a week), neither had it any devices or appliances for us to do it ourselves. In addition to the package cost we paid fully to travel agency the owner charged us extra taxes and a fee for cleaning (to be discussed with travel agent), also demanded a deposit for possible damage of 150euros in cash only. On the early morning of our check out he came to check the room. On very entering he started to shout that the room was in a terrible condition and that we had to clean the room or he won't return the deposit and call the police (????!!!!). The garbage he was pointing at were new tourist brochures and maps. We took some extra ones we didn't use and we usually return them to reception. Normally we hear "Thanks for thinking about environment" in such cases, but not at Fugenerhof. Of course the owner didn't like the fact we moved his sofa, but that's a strange reason for his intention to call police. Well, our mood and impression of the place were definitely spoilt by these issues. We will recommend all our friends to avoid this place by all means. Unless someone really likes being told off and shouted at for his own expensive cost.
