Convenient location ...1. Location: Very easy access from the train station along an overpass. Lots of food and shopping options within walking distance. However, do note that from my room, the trains can somewhat be heard. It was not loud enough to bother me, but could be discomfiting for light sleepers. 2. Rooms: Comparable to usual Japanese standards. Comfortable, with good wifi. 3. Staff: Efficient, and polite. Easy check-in and -out. 4. Amenities: There is a lovely hot bath area, which was greatly appreciated during the cold weather when I was there.

Perfect for a single traveler for a night or 2..I had met friends in Shibukawa and needed to be near Takasaki station to continue my trip. APA Hotel fit the bill. Sure the room was small but it was right next to the station, quiet, clean and affordable at 4000 yen for the night. Often folks traveling in Japan are taken aback by high accommodation costs but this, at less than $40 is a deal.

Good hotel but a small roomI checked into this hotel and it seems very clean. The room is small but then again it is just me staying here for two nights. I have two rucksacks and they just about fit the room and theyre not big or full rucksacks either With my package I get free breakfast and theres also an onsen in the hotel. The hotel is literally a 30 second walk from Takasaki train station They also have a car park here And the staff seem professional and polite plus they speak English which is also a bonus for English speaking person is like me do not speak Japanese at all but then again that is my fault

One of the best hotel in this area!Room was excellent and spacious. This is also next to the train station and this place provides not only free wifi, but the hotsprings on the 2nd level for hotel guests. A must try to use the hotel hotspring or onsen as its called.

Small rooms - even by Japanese StandardsWe stayed here for one night in a "Double Room with Small Double Bed". The small double bed was very accurate. Even two Japanese people would have a hard time sleeping in it. Would've been okay for a solo traveller but was rather expensive for the size of the room. Location was right next to the station however the area around it was rather noisy. From walking around it didn't seem to be a party neighbourhood but the whole night was interrupted by loud people on the street. There was also substantial train noise (as you would expect from a hotel adjacent to the station) but would've been nice if the rooms were soundproofed a bit more. We ate breakfast at the on-site hotel, the quality and variety wasn't as good as other APA chains, however did have a decent variety of Japanese options. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping areas nearby and would recommend one of those for food, particularly dinner as I think there could be much better food somewhere else. Bathroom was small and the standard Japanese pod style but was almost bigger than the room. I would hate to think if we had brought our large suitcases as we would not have been able to open them in the room. The staff were nice enough and the room was clean, however wouldn't stay again, even if travelling solo.
