  Central location

  We had a double room and it is not recommended for 2 adults sharing because it is very small. The space is enough to open 1 luggage only. Location is central as you can take tram to most tourist attractions like the ferry terminal to Sakurajima, Tenmonkan dori. There is a AMU Plaza for shopping. Turn to west exit and you will be able to see the hotel not far away. Opposite hotel has a seafood restaurant that sells yakitori, sashimi and dons which is not bad at reasonable price.

  Keeping up with Excellent APA Hotel Standards

  Great convenient hotel. Just a stone throw away from the JR train station. Reception staff were friendly and checking in and out was easy. Rooms are clean and comfy. Great housekeeping team that keeps our room clean and tidy every night. We had a small double room and is sufficient for a comfortable stay. Just to note that the rooms are small as per most hotels in Japan. Do not expect a huge space to move around. However, its sufficient for a few nights of good and comfortable sleep. The hotel is conveniently located. There is lots of food option nearby the property. The train station and bus station is just a 3 mins walk away. There is a shopping centre within the train station that you can shop around. Overall, great hotel and value for money if you do not mind the size of the rooms. As the title mentioned, we are never dissapponited with the excellent service provided by APA hotels standards throughout Japan.

  Convenient stay

  Location was convenient within a stone's throw from kagoshima station. The hotel feels a bit old, but rooms are still reasonably clean. We got the room with twin beds, apparently they should be more spacious but generally that's not an aspect we will expect of Japan accommodation- so our room was only slightly bigger I guess. Nothing much to whine or extol about, really just a convenient stop over while city hopping!

  Best Location for Travelers

  The hotel was nice and close to the shinkansen station. We had a great view of the ferris wheel, but it was raining most of our stay so beyond the lights of the city and wheel, not much was seen. Bed was small but cozy, staff was nice, and facilities were fine. It was very easy to travel from this location, so if you want to save time book here.

  Good location

  Stayed in APA hotel Kagoshima in January 2020. The hotel location was very good, opposite the main station, with access to plenty of restaurants. We booked x2 rooms, right next to each other. The rooms were moderate in size (by Japanese standards), which were more than sufficient for us. The bathrooms were neat, and clean. The television had BBC news as well as the usual Japanese channels. The outer walls were undergoing renovation, which obstructed our views of this beautiful city somewhat, but after the renovations that would improve surely. Our booking did not include breakfast, so I am unable to comment on the food they offer. All in all it was a very nice and memorable stay in this city and in this hotel.
