Thanks, but NO THANKSHaving booked 5 months ahead, we arrived to be told we could only stay 2 night and not the 3 booked. That was the only time we say our hostness. The roomswhilst nice, were never servised to the point that we ran out of toilet paper on the second day. Complete brakfest proviosions were only available the first day and from then on never re supplied. Ther was no one there to provide any assistance and in the end payment was only CASH. Great location from which to do the Chinque Terri, but try any of the other two options in the town.

Great alternative to hotelsThis was a great alternative to more costly hotel accomadation. Although it is located 15 minutes away from monterosso, and self transportation is required even so public buses are available at a certain frequencies. The location is very original and quaint, right among the very welcoming local people. The accommodation are small apartments complete with kitchen. Once coordinated the arrival with the owner, you can go and come back at any time with the key of the house where the apartments are. There is limited acceptance of visa / mc throughout the medieval like village , be prepared with cash. Peaceful leaving.

Nice accommodation in a little medieval townWe stayed for 12 nights at Antica Porta in Pignone and thoroughly enjoyed it. Specious clean room with bathroom, little balcony and equipped kitchen for guests. There is no air conditioning, but you do not need it, it was always cool in the rooms even if it was hot outside. Pignone is located in the mountains so at night the temperature got to +17 C, which was also very refreshing. There are free parking areas nearby. The owners, Alessandra and Stefano (and their whole family) are very nice people, extremely helpful and always ready to give advice on where to find the nearest car washing service, get local wine, how to get around, what places to see etc. As for Pignone it is a peaceful tiny old town with little narrow streets and colorful houses. Roosters crow at the crack of a dawn, frogs quack in the river - you do enjoy these sounds if you come from a big city. The town hosts food and live music festivals. Actually, you can hear live music every weekend as locals like to sing karaoke:) All in all, we had a great experience in Pignone and wish its citizens all the best. The only thing is you really need a car if you stay there in order to get to beaches and other places.

Ancient building, modern interiorIt is located in the medieval borgo of Pignone in the mountains about 15 kms away from Monterosso al Mare. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the accomodation is without fault. The interior design of the rooms is amazingly harmonius. Would love to return once here. Very, very homely.
