Loved every minute of itI returned yesterday from Bologna. I stayed at Antica Locanda Il Sole... I must say that it's been one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are big and clean, the surrounding area is abdolutely astonishing, and the price is really good, considering what you get. I would love it if my holidays there would last longer!

Oh what a mistake!Could this possibly be the same hotel? Not only is Trebbo de Reno difficult to find but when one finally arrives how ones heart sank. From the charmless and snippy receptionist (though the hotel had already taken 150 deposit from my credit card) to the poorly furnished, poky room which meant that one of us had to climb over the bed to reach the other side, the poor shower with a bizarre 1950s Woolworths hanging soap holder and non-completely closing doors, and no coat hangers, unless you count the bent wire ones which come from dry-cleaners and the worst breakfast in Italy. Dont believe the pictures on their website. There was also a heating duct in the wall which meant that the room was far too warm. Rotten TV reception, no broadband and no daily newspapers. The only time the receptionist smiled was when she told me that they had no papers! Oh, and the shoe-shine things in a packet in the room didnt shine anything! Miss Moody told us with glee that there was no mini-bar in the room but that we were welcome to use the hotel bar. What bar? A corner feature from which bottles of beer were sold nowhere to sit; no comfy chairs not even a barstool. We booked because the website implies that the Michelin one-star restaurant is part of the whole. Not so. On arrival, we asked to reserve a table for dinner no problem. We had a brilliant and memorable meal, and, at the end, wandered off to our prison cell bedroom. Almost asleep, the phone rang from reception demanding that we go downstairs immediately because we had not settled the restaurant bill. The receptionist told us that the resto was not part of the hotel nothing to do with us. She said (a) that the resto staff should have told us or (b) we should have known. I gently pointed out that even if all was as she said, I would be there in the morning (we had booked two nights). She firmly squashed that saying that the restaurant was entitled to be paid on the nail. The hotel was also subject to a great deal of traffic noise and on a dangerous corner. Go to the restaurant for a treat but stay elsewhere. Anywhere but not next door!

Nice and calmI stayed there in March with my sister, and although it was very hard to locate without the GPS (and with my average Italian, as the receptionist wouldn't speak English...), once you check in, you're happy. The desk clerks were helpful (but still... in Italian !!), the breakfast buffet was abundant and tasty most of the time, but I especially loved the huge room we had... A triple for the price of a double, very nicely furnished, a big bathroom, and extremely calm... Loved it, seriously !!! Go there only if you drive though, cause I have no idea how to get there otherwise (free parking).

One night visitThis is a cosy small hotel near By Bologna airport. The rooms are "like home". a bit rustic. The beds are cosy. Also the personnel is nice. Prices for the rooms are very good. And next to the hotel you can find a fabulous restaurant. I will for sure return. The atmosphere just was so warm and welcoming.

average hotelI have booked this hotel for two reasons: location next to Bologna Airport & nice pictures on the booking web-site. Cons: -rooms are medium-sized, unfortunately kind of torn up, flying bugs in the room (killed at least 3 or 4); - for the price we have paid for the room, I consider we could have been given a better room; - a little bit hard to find. Pro's: -the receptionist was very kind, we had a nice discussion with her; -nice restaurant, we got Italian espresso coffee, croissant & fruits. Unfortunately I would not stay again in this location, neither I would recommend it to others.
