  looking for a great villa

  i go to Bali about 5 times a year and this was the first time i stayed in a villa. The villa i stayed in was called The Antara Villas in Seminyak. The villa was GREAT the rooms were nice and clean the pool was great, the employees were so nice and professional and if you needed anything they were always there to help you had secruity as well. Phillpee who owns the villas was very nice and very helpful and i would definatly book with them again. Thanks Phillpee for such a great expereince in your villa my family and my self had the best time.

  Comfortable and relaxing villa

  We stayed at Antara Villas in Seminyak-actually Umalas, just outside of Seminyak-but that didn't matter as they have a free shuttle service to Seminyak-10 minutes. We rented two villas around the pool.The covered 'outdoor' lounge area with DVD player,lounges,fridge and sink was great and there are rice fields, a restaurant and spa/salon just down the road. Our hostess, Ayu, was charming and helpful and organised a snorkelling trip for us which was excellent value and supervised by professional divers. The rooms were comfortable and very clean and the pool was well-maintained. I would definitely return and found it pleasant to go back there in the afternoon after the busy atmosphere of Seminyak.   We're not in Kansas anymore!

  Firstly, this property is not in Seminyak, it is at least 20-40 minutes taxi ride from Seminyak, traffic dependent and nowhere near the beach. Secondly, be sure you do not confuse this property with Antara Villas (which are in Seminyak and look great). We arrived at The Antara Villa to learn that or accomodation, booked 3 months earlier through Flight Centre was cancelled. Miss Aya was amazingly helpful in trying to 'sort this out' but our stay really was a little like Faulty Towers. Our Villa - number 3 - was in need of either finishing of or fixing up - all a little bit grimy, exposed power cords less than 30cm from the pool, dirty outdoor bathrooms with calcified shower heads, and by outdoor I mean completely outdoor. The living pavillion is completely open to the elements, so be thankful for the geckos that eat the bugs! On the other hand, beware of something large that devoured my friend's medication through the foil blister pack - obviously it came in through one of the gaps in the wall! Whilst Ayu (site manager) went beyond the call of duty, the rest of the staff need much better training or improved work ethic... our breakfast dishes were not collected, even after I moved them to outside the door, until well into the afternoon, our rooms were not serviced nor drinking water replaced during the 3 days we were able to stay, and english is not the preferred method of communication - they tried but it was difficult. Regarding breakfast, this is cooked off site, at a sister property down the road and transported to Antara - so cool eggs and soggy toast is the norm. It's worth investing in your own real butter and jam as that supplied with breakfast was terrible. All in all, despite Ayu's amazing effort, it was generally disappointing. There is no free shuttle to Seminyak
