  Good for visiting the wetland park.

  It is located at the Hangzhou Wetland park. So it is great spot if you want to visit the park. But it is a bit far from city center. Also, we were not offered the welcome drinks as Accor Gold member and the staff are not aware of the Accor standard at all. Room is clean and tidy afterall.

  Fawlty Towers comes to China

  The actual hotel is in a good location and has a pleasant cultural theme. However we had some problems- * the toilet did not work after the first flush. * we are senior citizens so transparent doors to the bathroom and toilet are no longer groovy. *we needed people who spoke better English- my wife got frustrated with some staff and so senior management from the other Banyan hotel needed to intervene to save the day. *I am still unsure of whether I was billed correctly. *There are many areas that need painting and maintenance.

  This place needs more newer reviews; it is not 5/5 by any stretch of the imagination

  Let me start with a quick summary, and then dig further. In short, if you want to size up this hotel, imagine a 5-star that was opened 10 years ago, and has had only the strict minimum upkeep since then. And the Banyan Tree nearby uses this as a cheap overflow annex. Thats a good picture of Angsana Hangzhou. Pros: - Very nice lobby and entrance (of course; you need at least a good first impression) - Parking is free (and it should be, if you look at it) Cons: just about everything else: - Tired property, needs better maintenance all around: bad painting here and there, stains on walls, carpets not in great shape, tired and noisy elevators, etc. - Room design originally attractive, but air conditioning does not work well (central override?), bathroom is slippery with no mat, amenities come in unbranded plastic pump containers (good for environment, but what am I using?) - Breakfast is ok, but ran out of options an hour before close - No acknowledgement of being an Accor Platinum member. Did I get an upgrade? No idea. Did I get any perks? No idea. No one even mentioned the membership. (Even though i booked direct from the Accor app) - Most staff, although theyre trying their best, are clearly very inexperienced. We come to Hangzhou often, and we usually try different hotels depending on our mood. This one was a big disappointment. Within the same price range (and even lower), there are literally at least a dozen better options in town. This hotel absolutely does not belong in the top 10 hotels in Hangzhou, not even top 20. I guess most positive reviews are quite a bit older, if you look at the dates they were posted. That might have reflected the reality then, but it certainly does not reflect the reality as of 2019. A real shame.

  You have serious problems, Banyan Tree..

  Im appalled by the poor level of service in this Hotel... especially the breakfast operations in their cafe. The kitchen and service staff are not trained at all to serve foreign guests. Our expectation of the banyan tree experience have been seriously eroded with such bad service attitude we experienced in this property. (We did get some decent service from the Front Desk staff though). Pls, Banyan Tree Mgmt, go conduct a MS audit and find out what serious problems youre having in this property. And pls, if you assign the Chef as the Duty manager, at least put him in a proper black suit. Definitely not going back there any time soon.

  Underwhelming

  Hotel was fine. Nothing spectacular. At multiple times throughout my 2-day stay, Id say 4/5 of the lobby staff wasnt wearing a mask, or had it on below the chin. Unlike other hotels, nobody took peoples temperature upon arrival, something that seems like it should be the norm. At night a dinner party came in and out of the lobby, some of them smoking openly. Room was nice, albeit located in a shopping area without the feel of being in a Wetland. Rooftop pool was closed due to light rain, understandably so. Breakfast was fine. Overall, the location is nice if you want a change from West Lake and can get to enjoy the wetlands. I have 50+ nights in different hotels this year, and overall, I was underwhelmed by the Angsana here and also in Xian. Youre paying for the name brand I think. You can get better service, food, accommodations in some of the lower levels of Accor hotels.
