  beautiful scenery

  The rooms are nice -- two bathrooms per bedroom! The scenery is spectacular. The breakfast buffet is tasty. The wifi stinks so don't expect to be able to use it to get much work done. One night there was a lot of noise outside our bedroom window ... other than that it's a peaceful spot.

  Dated hotel, convenient location

  Stayed here in July for 2 nights and was charmed by the historic lobby and its decorations. Location cannot be beaten, right in the heart of Cortina. However, the rooms are very very dated and needs some update. Wifi almost non-existent, bed was very uncomfortable. On top of that, my room was facing the back of the hotel and that's where the hotel staff take their smoking breaks and the smell was awful. The delivery trucks and garbage trucks woke us up very early in the morning.

  Beautiful town, dated hotel

  We stayed here for 2 nights as part of an insight tour. My least favorite hotel room of all on this tour. The exterior is quaint and the hotel is situated directly in the center of the town of Cortina. Cute town. The rooms were small, and in need of updating. The walls were scuffed, bath was oddly shaped and awkward with a window that opened onto a neighboring room's patio. There was no air conditioning, as it is generally cool there. We were there during a heat wave, however, but couldn't even keep the windows open due to the smoke from employee area and the noise from the street. The restaurant food was just ok, and I waited for more than 30 minutes for anyone to take my drink order on the bar's patio. The exterior was pretty and the wood burning stove in the lobby is unique. All the staff were nice too. Overall, just ok hotel, but great central location in Cortina!

  European charm

  This hotel is very charming in a classic way. Other reviewers have noted this as outdated, which I can understand, but my girlfriend and I loved the classic, historic decor of the Ancora. Our room was on a corner, with two balconies, one of which faced the city church--quite beautiful. The receptionists we're also very friendly. We were late for breakfast, but the receptionist worked with the kitchen to put together a plate of pastries for us and gave us some espresso. The only negative for us was the weak wifi--the signal was very weak and service cut out entirely every so often.

  A Classic House with Excellent Cuisine

  The hotel is located in the heart of the city, in the pedestrian zone and 5 minutes to the bus station, leaving to the ski slopes. . The interior is classic. Rooms were very clean. We enjoyed the delicious food and the hospitality overall.
